sorry i’m never on the game threads, my tv (i actually get msg) is far enough away from my internet, that it just doesn’t work.
Let’s Go Rangers!!!
LOL!
Jim..good stuff.
First game we see the team sans Gaborik. Hopefully it turns out like the scrimmage the Islanders know they are.

hey, i thought that Lundqvist wasn’t playing tonight. something about a love tap with the guard rail on the Saw Mill?
the NYI logo is pretty awesome, too, by the way.

You know, usually games on the GUIDE are terrible quality. It looks pretty solid as of now.

i have twc..
and they switched from the guide to 197 which is called sports extra but it is not that bad
Cody’s favorite team is the Islanders, yet he really didn’t seem happy to drop the puck.

There’s an islander in our goal. Go figure.

Keep in mind
The islanders have jumped out to leads against a bunch of teams this year only to cough up the lead as it goes on.
Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay
tip your hat there
that was a high percentage shot.
Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay
If Higgins and Dubinsky get benched for making mistakes, does Gilroy?
I say yes, but not this game. Not in front of everyone he knows.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
why not, Higgins got benched in Montreal where he played all those years.

this players take the biggest hits like it is nothing but they always get hue=rt on these little plays like gabroik was grazed and higgins just fell
Someone seems to have lit a fire under Drury tonight, he’s skating well thus far.

hey Mouth
did you see Staal join the play? Nice right?
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
Staal
Staal has been an absolute force, along with Hank.
Game calmed down and the Rangers are finally awake. Need to get some pressure going off the rush and take better care of the puck going into the Islander zone.
Blueshirt Banter - We party like it's 1994 every game
US Soccer - The Yanks Are Coming
Hey Rob.
also need to make people pay for going to the net. Thought they were all over Hank in spurts

1st Intermission
Okay, shaky start but the Boys got it together at the end of the period. Parenteau fighting for a roster spot with a goal like that, and Higgy made a nice play. That’s a play that won’t show up on the scoresheet but it’s a nice play nonetheless. Staalsy with a post at the end and nice pressure. Tighten up on D, Redden make less mistakes, and come out strong in the 2nd period for once! Let’s do this boys!
Let's Go Rangers!
i play alot of fantasy fball, for some reason i suck at fantasy hockey, dont know why

They need to bring back the trivia quizzes and record the number of points they have, like old times.

by nyrangerfan521 on Oct 28, 2009 8:16 PM EDT up reply actions
Exactly
Our lineup is SO much different without Gaborik. If you were told before we traded for Gabs that Prospal would be our first line center, what would you have thought?

He’s making good plays and putting the puck on net, which is ALWAYS a good thing.

seems to have a nose for the net

Wow. They bought that hook.
Even though Avery dropped his stick immediately.

Can’t expect him to go post to post to post.
by Lunkwill Fook on Oct 28, 2009 8:40 PM EDT up reply actions
mans thats bullshit
but it is kinda funny seeing Okposo’s “grill” how the hell do you have gold teeth in hockey?
Maybe there should be a record kept to see how the Rangers are better with Gaborik in the lineup. So far, 8-3-1. Pretty damn good. Without him? Looking 0-1.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
come on dont chalk this one up as an L yet. down 1 going into the 3rd to an AHL team. not saying they r gonna pull it off but u cant mark it down yet

Once again..Isles have been epic at coughing up 2nd period leads.

Still 20 Minutes Left
But they need to start getting to the net more, Roloson is NOT this good. Rangers got screwed with that bad call against Avery, they can come back. It’s 1 goal against the Lady Islanders, they got this.

college basketball like
the ncaa tourney can be good but only like the last 2 minutes of an nba game are good and only i it is close
Perfect feed from Prospal
and Cally missed, IMO he has missed 8 or 9 other dead on shots this season.
He had to reach for it a bit. Threw him off just enough.

What the Rangers need to do is divide up the period into 5 minute intervals. 5 :37 gone by, we lost that. Now there is 14:23 left to win.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"

We just need a goal
Tie the game, remember that this Islanders team is NOT good.
by Lunkwill Fook on Oct 28, 2009 9:09 PM EDT up reply actions
I didn’t realize how much we needed Gaborik for the offense. It’s unsettling that this is how we play against the Islanders without him, with the only goal by a career AHL player.
Let's Go Rangers!
its exactly like last year. anemic powerplay and we just need a good bounce to get a goal at even strength
by nyrangerfan521 on Oct 28, 2009 9:10 PM EDT up reply actions
Unfortunately
All the bounces are going in favor of the Lady Isles.
Let's Go Rangers!
by HeartOfARanger on Oct 28, 2009 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions
I wanna see Lundqvist make a gorgeous glove save, then start rushing up the ice, catching every Islander flat-footed and confused. The Ranger players catch on instantaneously and join the rush, creating a 6-On-2 odd man rush. Just as Lunqvist reaches the red line, he dishes it off to MDZ, and they gain the zone. The 2 Islanders on D start soiling themselves in a mix between panic and fascination. MDZ dishes it off to Cally, who goes across the slot and drops the puck back to Kotalik who unleashes a Howitzer of a slapshot that destroys Roloson’s mask and trickles across the goal line. The refs all crap their pants and award the Rangers 3 goals for the awe-inspiring event that just unfolded in front of their eyes.
Let's Go Rangers!

Jim Schmiedeberg: "Kotalik shot that puck like it was a badminton birdie"
The Rangers aware the game began yet?
"Malik now." "6 foot 6, 238, not a noted goal scorer but he's gonna give it a shot here." "Malik has not scored this year. In on Kolzig, faked it....SCORES"
Seriously?
Are we going to lose to the New York Lady Islanders? Unbelievable. I hereby give permission for Tortorella to slice, stab, and cut the Ranger defense corp (Except MDZ) with a rusty tuna can lid.
Let's Go Rangers!
Hahah
And now the referee keeps us from putting it in the Islanders zone.
Should have had a goal there
Lisin just missed the perfect setup.
