Who's In:

G Pascal Leclaire, D Erik Karlsson, W Alexei Kovalev, W Milan Michalek , W Jonathan Cheechoo, C Peter Regin

Who's Out:

2009-2010 Ottawa Senators Season Preview from Silver Seven Sens, the SBNation community for the Ottawa Senators.

Sens Notes: (courtesy of Silver Seven Sens, Ottawa Citizen)

  • Mike Fisher has been named alternate captain, joining Daniel Alfredsson and Chris Phillips as players with letters on the front of their jerseys that aren't S, E, N, or S.
  • Alfredsson's on the verge of setting a few personal milestones: 1000 games played, 1000 points, and 400 goals. If he gets 45 goals this season (the number he needs to get to 400), that'd be simply amazing.
  • Shean Donovan and Alexandre Picard will sit out as the Ottawa Senators open their 2009-10 season here against the Rangers tonight.

jeez...

second game of the year and we’re already uttering “must win”?

Even the idea that its close to one is a bit ridiculous. I mean I wanna win all 81 from here on out, but c’mon…..

That said, lets win tonight.

How about some 1st NHL points for MDZ and Gilroy while we’re at it.

What the f$%k is the internet?

by FreeBradshaw on Oct 3, 2009 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Not a must win

But it’d be nice to get that first win out of the way for the youngsters. Plus, no one likes to get swept in back to back games.

With some of the jitters out of the way, I expect better games from Gilroy, Del Zotto, and Anisimov.

i was hoping the "i dont want to say it"

would show my sarcasm. It never does translate well over the internet.

that is partially true, but the other part is that there are enough people in here who will actually believe it that u cant throw the meat inside the lion’s cage.

Ranger fans love to panic

It’s just the nature of having the best fans in hockey. I’ll take the good with the bad.

You have got to be kidding me!!!

Must win…. It barely october… Relax people. You can start typing the words must win in march. We will be fine even if we go 0-5 out the gate. This is a brand new team with lots of young talent….. You need to patient and let the team gel.

i read

The conversation prior but sad thing is that this will be a serious topiceven if we go 0-5 to start…. This team reminds me of the 05 team. We will be just fine.
