Devils News and Notes:

Devils cram before showdown (Bergen Record)

Devils brace for date with Rangers, go to work on the power play (Fire and Ice)

  • G Martin Brodeur played his 1,000th NHL game and his 15th straight opener Saturday night but it wasn't a good game as he gave up five goals on 27 shots in a 5-2 home loss. "Not really his best game," said Devils coach Jacques Lemaire. "It was kind of tough for him. You get a couple of easy goals on him and, after that, maybe he was questioning himself."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "What's new? When the team isn't playing well they're not going to praise you. It's disappointing for everybody, a situation like that. I hate to break the news to you, but it's going to happen again. If we don't perform, people won't be happy. That's the nature of everything." -- Devils goalie Martin Brodeur, after allowing five goals on 27 shots in the opening-night loss to Philadelphia. (Fox Sports)

you got all the guys who left, but left out half of the new guys. Rob Niedermayer, Matt Halischuk, Nicklas Bergfors probably the biggest ones especially Bergfors as he is a young player they are asking to step in and fill some of the lost scoring.

Halischuk is technically not new, he was with them last year. Bergfors has been up and down with them the last couple of years. Niedemayer yes, I missed.

that’s like saying artie is not new cause he played a game with us last year as Halishchuk played one game and Bergfors had like 9 or 10 i believe. so, yes not brand new, but the roles especially for bergfors is very new in the expectations of his contribution.

He’s not a new player to the New Jersey Devils, therefore, he is not on the list.

Again, I went by the list on In Lou We Trust, complain to them.

I just joined here today

I didn’t realize that direct tv was blacking out the Rangers. Is that permanent? Is it just for this game, or what?

I’ll drop the whole account I have with them if they’re telling me I can’t watch a Ranger game when I live in NY.

DirecTv is no longer carrying Vs, at least not currently.

You Should Drop Them TONIGHT!!!

They promise all NYR action. I was close to making the switch bec. Time Warner aren’t much better, but VS is an important channel now.

more screwed up than that

is the free offer for NHL center ice they’re offering me for a month. They have the Rangers pictured on their ad page and right below is the fine print about blacking them out!

This is sickening. And if I drop them I have no other quick option for service because cablevision isn’t an option for me.

I had my last straw with directv today

had a supervisor named Megan talk down to me, and say my request for a lower rate plan, didnt make sense to them, the business. the company is more important than the customer.

and don’t get me started about Versus.

Comcast will get my money again starting wednesday.
