SB Nation's NHL Power Rankings!
The hockey managers have all coordinated to create an NHL Power Rankings list. Actually there are three lists: Top Ten in the NHL, and then the Eastern Conference rankings, and Western Conference rankings.
Click here to see the full rankings from SB Nation
The Rangers didn't fare too badly, finishing 6th in the EastCon, up from 8 last week. They did garner some votes for the Top Ten list, but it looks like they just missed the cut.

Colorado Really?
I’ll admit that Colorado has played better than I or I think anyone else expected but give me a break. Top ten is ridiculous for them. They will come down to Earth. Till then I guess everyone will just get high on their success.
JOKE
Detroit is in the top ten? They are 0-2 and blew lots of leads to St. Louis. They don’t deserve to be there. Isn’t power rankings based on performance of the last week? That is pathetic. These Rankings have the strongest teams overall at the top and the weakest overall at the bottom (note these are just all public and media opinion). C’mon who cares what roster a team boasts, if their record is terrible and they aren’t playing well, don’t be afraid to put them at the bottom of the pile. Detroit, and Vancouver are 0-2 at the time of the Rankings. Look how high they are. Pure Baloney.
Tell me, does it make sense Colorado is #10 out of the top ten if Vancouver is ranked higher than them in the West? Colorado should be there, but C’mon, if Vancouver isn’t at the bottom of the pile next week somethings up.

ALSO, take what I said about Colorado and Vancouver’s rankings, and Colorado’s spot, and apply it to Philly – Washington, and Chicago – St. Louis – San Jose. If your rated higher in your conference than a team, how could that team possibly be ahead of you in the overall rankings? Really bad job here people…
but these are my opinions….

Relax guys, its just a cumulative vote by all the hockey managers, based on right now.

power rankings are all relative to previous rankings. if a team that is originally ranked 25th beats a few good teams then they jump up a few notches but they arent goin to be in the top 10. so if a team starts out in a bogus position then they might float around that neighborhood for awhile. IMO power rankings only work in the nfl bc every game means so much
thats why college football rankings are ridiculous..
i remember rutgers a few years back was amazingly good. but they started the season off with such a low ranking that they didnt get as much credit as they should of.
i find it funny that. thrashers went up 5 spots with 1 win ;)
ducks went down 6 spots for 1 loss ;)
i just honestly dont get how they come up with these things. plsu i think they sohuld wait 10 games or so before they make these rankings
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
It’s just for fun, and discussion. Mission accomplished, ha ha
