Rangers Transactions: Parenteau coming, Bye-Bye Byers

Thanks to Laurie Carr on this one, the AHL website is reporting that P.A. Parenteau has been recalled from Hartford, and Dane Byers is being sent back down.

Donald Brashear and Aaron Voros are still with the team in case you were wondering.

FYI: Just got the email from the Rangers, this is now official

Why wasn’t this move made earlier this week? Byers can provide some offense, but with drury and dubinsky out we obviously needed more offense than voros brashear and byers could produce…

Tortorella didn’t want to upset the apple cart by bringing bodies up from Hartford. I believe last night’s utter lack of chemistry on the ice by anyone not named Prospal and Gaborik changed his mind of that.

i agree. also i believe that he decided the top 9 were just going to take all the minutes since he didnt have a real 4th line center so didnt serve a purpose to have PAP here as a 4th line player. who gets dropped down now?

Playing Vinny Prospal for almost half the game last night was absurd

i agree, but i also think part of this is cause cally is sore from blocking the shot last night and didnt skate this morning. if you want to solve prospal playing so much then call up locke to play another center spot or move higgins or avery to center so you can at least fake rolling 4 lines, or even 3. i mean i believe the breakdown at center was like 27, 15, 15, 5 (yes more than 60 but some cause they killed penalties or played pp together).

also torts has stopped to some degree sugarcoating drury.
“coach John Tortorella on Chris Drury: No timetable still but “He’ll be out for a while.” per Gross tweet. i dont expect dru back before thanksgiving at the earliest, maybe not before dubinsky.

Im going to ask the most obvious question ive never asked here.

What warranted a 6.5 million dollar contract to Redden? and a 5 spot for Rozy? and a 7 spot for drury? because watching them its soooo puzzling i mean drury plays good all around but dont score and was never a light em up player, rozy played a good 2007 season with jagr but was always suspect on defense, not a natural scorer and was always a normal speed type player, and redden put up good numbers with ottawa but not in his contract year. what was going on in sathers head?
