Blueshirt Banter Radio: IMPORTANT! TIME CHANGE FOR TONIGHT!
Hi guys
We were able to confirm that former Ranger PR director and one of the authors of "100 Ranger Greats" John Halligan
will join us on the show tonight, and to accomodate John, we will be starting at 7 PM.
Sorry for the late change, but we were just able to get the confirmation from John this morning, so it had to be done. Please spread the word, 7 PM start tonight. Look at it this way, you will have an hour after the show to get ready for the Ranger game.
John was with the Rangers for I believe over 40 years, I think it will be fascinating to hear the stories he must have.
We are live on the air at 7, as always you can listen here, or click the link for Blueshirt Banter Radio and join the chat!

It's really too bad....
…that this was posted after BSB Radio ended tonight.
Jim – here’s some “Drury enlightenment” for you.
Quoting Steve Zipay (since many of you can’t read him any more)
“It’s not just my decision, it was a group of us,” said John Tortorella a few minutes ago here at GM Place. The coach said that the coaching and management group were gathered yesterday and captain Chris Drury came into the meeting and made the suggestion that veteran Vinny Prospal be named an alternate.
As fans, we have a tendency to gravitate towards vocal, outgoing leaders.
If that’s what you want – then Drury certainly isn’t your guy – and never will be.
And he’s not the most engaging personality from an interview perspective – far from it.
I would submit that the kind of “captain” you’re looking for would be exactly WRONG for this Rangers team – not because of the team – but because of the Coach. There’s only room for one outspoken personality – and Tortorella has that locked up by default. When the crap hits the fan and players get PO’d at the Coach, you need a rational quiet type like Drury to convey the same message as the Coach – but in a different manner. That’s why Drury is the “C” and he’ll remain so for the remainder of this year at the very least.
His lack of scoring is a separate issue – and we’re all concerned with that – he certainly isn’t putting up numbers worthy of his fat contract (but neither was Gomez….) – hopefully things will shake out and he, Higgins, Cally, Dubi and Avery will start putting the biscuit in the basket.
db, I understand what you are saying, but sometimes your Captain needs to be that emotional leader on the ice, I just don’t see that from Drury.
And I do agree with you, he will be captain for a long time, it just sends the wrong message to strip a “C” off a player
