Rangers News: Bobby Sanguinetti back to Hartford
Oh well.....
NEW YORK RANGERS TRANSACTION/PRACTICE UPDATE
New York, December 1, 2009 - New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Sanguinetti, 21, skated in three games with the Rangers following his recall on Thursday. He made his NHL debut on Friday at Tampa Bay. He returns to Hartford where he has registered six goals and 16 assists for 22 points, along with 10 penalty minutes in 21 games this season. Sanguinetti led all AHL defensemen in scoring and ranked fourth in the league overall with 22 points at the time of his recall. He has registered six multi-point efforts on the season, including an AHL career-high four-point performance on October 31 against Providence (two goals and two assists). Last season, Sanguinetti led Wolf Pack defensemen in points (42) and assists (36), and set a Hartford single-season rookie record for assists by a blueliner. He also led all Wolf Pack skaters with five points (one goal and four assists) in six AHL playoff contests.

They’re gonna go with 5 defenseman to try to get Rozie 30 minutes a night.

I dunno what to think of this...
Sanguinetti looked lost the first game, but plays a little better the second.
I do think that having 3 rookies up there wouldn’t be the best of choices tho….
"It ain't over till its over"---
Yeah...
….you wouldn’t want the rookies making mistakes and costing us wins.
Oh wait.

I mean next year things look better
Del Zotto and Gilroy will have a year of hockey under their belts and then Sanguinetti can make the team and be the only rookie on the blueline. Hopefully Rozsival is gone by then, as will (wether you like it or not) Girardi. Which will leave pleanty of room to sign a banger at D, which Sather won’t do and when we start the cycle over again.

Sanguinetti will replace Girardi on the roster. Rozsival getting out of here is still optimistic thinking but hopefully he’s gone.
As for signing a banger….even if Sather does do it he’ll likely give him 4 years/stupid money and clog up the spots waiting for McDonagh and Guinness.

I think Sanguinetti will be called up a few more times this year and will make the team for good next year, when Girardi is gone (have a feeling he will be gone). I like Bobby, he is a good passer and has decent size, but needs to pick up some weight/muscle to be able to play more physical. 190lbs for a 6’3" guy is really lite
I didn’t think Bobby looked all that great when he was playing the last few games. He was probably nervous. This is to be expected i suppose. It may help to send him back down for a while to get his convidence back up. I do agree Bradshaw though … having three rookie defensemen will ultimately lead to a lot of pucks in our own net. Although what the hell, a lot of pucks are going in our net with our vet defensemen too ….
...oh boy
I think that MSG would be a great place for a professional hockey team
LMAO!

He was sent back for salary cap purposes right now. As much as I wish he could stay and Rozsival would be gone, it just won’t happen like that. Since Rosi will be playing, Sangs would just be eating precious cap room. This is also why he was sent back to Hartford so quickly.
Dave
It’s beginning to become crazy that Rozsival is playing every night. I know that you keep saying that it wont happen like that, but something needs to be done with him, he can’t keep costing us games like this.
