I’d bring him back. If the system doesn’t work soon, then chant it up.

Renney is awful and does indeed "suck"

Jagr and the emergence of Hank got us into the playoffs after the lockout.
Renney lost his players, and was too soft.

Once again let me elude to the playoff series against Pittsburgh were his stupidity pretty much cost us the series. GM 1 3-0 lead, after Pitt scored they should have called a TO. Mellon Arena was going crazy. GM 2 winnable game, GM 3 that idot Hollweg cost us that game, WHY WAS HE PLAYING? etc. etc. I have a million of these stupid decisions.

Scent of a Woman. Really? If you want to compare playoff decisions look at last year against Washington.

I’ll elude to the playoff series vs Pittsburgh as well. To correct you, not one thing you said was Renney’s fault. You blamed Renney for losing the series. The Rangers had a meltdown in game 1 – how many times have we seen the Rangers play nonchalant hockey? There is little the coach can do when the players lose an edge in their game. “Benching players” doesn’t help. I don’t recall what transpired but if you’re correct about the timeout, then fine. Sometimes the coach feels no need to call a timeout right away. You only have one in the game to use. Many great coaches have lost games when their team is leading by 3. Technically every game is a winnable game so I don’t know where you’re coming from there, but to blame the coach for losing is absurd. Have you ever blamed a player?….. yes Hollweg apparently, and he was playing because to win a game you need to play 4-line hockey. That was something Renney did, and there is no fault in that. Sometimes a player does something out of the coaches control.

What are your other “million stupid decisions”? And how would you compare them to other decisions supposedly better?

Anyone can blame the coach for anything. You can blame the coach for every goal scored against the team, but you don’t. Others are at fault more often than not.

Renny changed lines constantly which hampered the teams ability to mesh

He lost the Rangers GM 1, simple as that. A 3-0 lead should not be lost. He should have called a TO to settle his team down, Mellon Arena was going crazy.

The Rangers should not have even been in the series with WSH. The Caps had too much offense, while the Rangers couldnt beat Varlamov, VARLAMOV.

It pleases me to see Renney rotting in Edmonton.

"the Rangers shouldn't have been in ther series against Wash"

…yet, they damn near won it.

They couldn’t beat Varlamov…cuz he was good.

Its really no Renny’s faul that they had a team who’s offense was as good as this year’s version

MINUS GABORIK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That said, I’m glad they got rid of Renny too.

I’m not happy Torts is reverting to Renny’s line changing tho….

But to say Renny was horrible…flat out wrong. He was a good coach and I would actually have been intrigued to see what he would’ve done with Gabby and this team as constructed this year.

Varlamov was good?

What? The Rangers didn’t test Varlamov at all. There is no reason he should be up for the Calder. The Rangers made his as good as he is viewed in the media. Varlamov did nothing to prevent the Rangers from winning any game. The Rangers just blew.

I’m sure you weren’t saying this when the team was 7-1, we’re only 1/3rd through Torts’ first full season as head coach, this team was awful the last 15 games or so that Renney was coach.

Bring Back Renny?

They realize why he left right?

He wasn’t bad….but he made for an average team.

AVER-AGE AVER-AGE.!!!!!!

…not saying Torts is that much better….but chants like these are so stupid.

Fans at the Garden are pretty embarassing lately. THings like this…and the MVP chants for Kobe and Lebron last year? Whoever does stuff like this should be castrated.

Not average. The Rangers were viewed as a threat by the league. Other teams finally had a reason to fear the Rangers. They were playing winning hockey. The Reputation for winning was restored. Where is it now?
