i think the only reason the rangers have drury on..
is cuz he can take faceoffs and play the pk…but i wish he was benched…f’in rangers…even though i have finals i still watch this pathetic team…i wonder what happens if they come out flat again tonight? i think torts will take drurys stick and beat him with it
if ur going to stick him on the 4th line might as well scratch him and send the big message.

Why what the hell is the difference? He kills penalties, it’s a usefull skill regardless of how much money the person who’s doing it is getting paid.
The Rangers went the first year of the lockout with no Captain what so ever, I think you just need 3 letters.
couple of teams have no captain now: Montreal, Florida didn’t for a while, technically Vancouver, Toronto
is it because torts blew up in his press conference last night that everyone seems to be giving him a pass for the pathetic performance last night? anyone else think if they respected their coach or that fire he shows cussing at a press conference that performance doesnt happen in the first place?
I don’t think Torts is getting a pass, not from the fans. But its still only been 60ish games, and I still think the GM is the bigger problem

Mentioned it earlier
Everyone blames Sather for this team and only a few are actually focusing on Tortorella. About 85/15 in terms of wanting them fired.
Once Sather’s gone, and the team doesn’t instantly turn around (which it won’t), that’s when the fire Torts stuff will start up full blast.

because you play the cards your dealt…it just so happens Torts was dealt a few rags and that he is pot committed to. thats my take on his situation right now
Baloney
Sitting Redden is evidence against that.
Either Tortorella thinks Rozsival is playing well or he’s not going everything in his power to deal with the situation.

i cant blame torts for this…i blame sather for straining us to the cap…if Rozsival made 3 million andthe same with drury and redden we would be singing a different tune
but due to sather giving them those large contracts he screwed this team cap wise
Their contracts
Are not the reason Higgins, Drury, Avery and Callahan are on pace for 40 goals or so.

Lundqvist deserves to win. The Rangers deserve to lose.

Hey guys.
Anyone think “benching” players now will make the players not want to be part of this team, if these new changes don’t work?

Depends
On how the players in the locker room feel about the guys that were benched.

I fear so desperately for Lundqvist. What goalie wants to play for a team like this, especially a goalie of his caliber? Judging from Redden’s reaction I think he definitely has a grudge going on.

2003/2004: Bobby Holik (25G 31A 56pts) missed the playoffs
2004/2005: Lockout year
2005/2006: Jaromir Jagr (54G 69A 123pts) swept in first round
2006/2007: Jaromir Jagr (30G 66A 96pts) lost in second round
2007/2008: Jaromir Jagr (25G 46A 71pts) lost in second round
2008/2009: Scott Gomez (16G 42A 58pts)/Nik Zherdev (23G 35A 58pts)
2009/2010 (34 Games): Marian Gaborik (23G 21A 44pts)

actually i guess it wasnt funny (maybe it was) a couple weeks ago when the guy on the panthers got pissed and went to whack the pipes and whacked his goalie instead

watelse is new islander score a goal with a guy in front of the net and we have three guys watching him
its nice to see a powerplay that could actually function…we’ve always had a strong PK but to have a decent if not good power play is a nice addition
I’d love to hear someone disagree with me but Rozsival is playing like a 5 million dollar defensemen
sam just made a comment that was odd...he said that no one shows more leadership than henrik...thats not a neccesarily a good thing right?
ok so gabby has 24 goals right? Who's next....Prospal or Cally now?
by giantsNYrangers on Dec 17, 2009 9:32 PM EST up reply actions
Thats a tuff one. He might win the scoring title but if they dont get in it'll be tuff to give him the MVP

what if
they get in but don’t make it to the finals? does he get the vote then?
by #17ToTheRafters on Dec 17, 2009 9:34 PM EST up reply actions
let’s assume they lose in 7 and he’s involved in 75% of the goals
by #17ToTheRafters on Dec 17, 2009 9:36 PM EST up reply actions
if he leads in points and more importantly goals. than yes theres a good chance if he makes the playoffs

this game doesn’t really matter. we did gain some confidence but roloson and the isles D were pathetic. and no, redden and kotalik should not play next game. what kind of message would that send?
