The future's so bright....
Well - I may not need to wear "shades" yet - but the future is definitely looking bright, if these youngsters can continue to progress.
Forwards (!) Ryan Bourque, Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan, whose NHL rights are owned by the New York Rangers, were all named to the final roster for the 2010 US National Junior Team. In addition, Luke Walker, a free agent who participated with the Rangers in the Traverse City Prospect Tournament (and who would have a NYR contract if they weren't up against the limit of 50, I suspect) was also named to the squad.
While none of these guys offer any hope in the short term - the Rangers organization, led by Gord Clark, has done a good job the last couple years in finding prospects.

Deez two Yutes...
This is one of the best things about Hockey. I really enjoying following the prospects and seeing them come up through the system. Which is unlike the other major sports. With hockey you draft these kids when they are 18ish and you watch them grow. Either in the CHL, ECHL, AHL or any of the minor leagues. We’ve really done well in these recent drafts. Esp. since we pick around the 10th – 20th spot. It’s also great that we’ve got a ton of American players. Not to knock other nationalities but it’s awesome when you have guys on your team that are from your country even better guys from the region. I feel like they have a little more to play for. Least they should…
how long
until slats trades one,two or all of these kids for some overpriced, over the hill last decade talent
He wont
He has shown good discipline when other teams have asked for our solid young talent. I would be shocked if he gave any of these guys away without seeing them hit the ice in our uniforms first.
