Rangers Recall Heikkinen

The Rangers have recalled Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Ilkka Heilkkinen to replace the injured Wade Redden. However, the Blueshirt Brass was forced to place forward Brandon Dubinsky (broken hand) on long-term injured reserve to be able to fit the Finnish blue-liner into the lineup and remain under the cap ceiling. I guess they weren’t thrilled with Sangs. Ah well, bring on the next blue-chip blue-liner.

I think it has more to do with getting Gilroy (who played with Sangs) back to his natural position as a right defenseman. With Sangs he got shifted to the left side.

I say consede the season early and start pairing gaborik with anisimov and grachev to see what the two kids could do with our one goal scorer

Toronto needs a #1

Not another #2. They’re all stocked up on 2’s.

heiny (k dropped) is 5-11-16 sporting a +6 thru 24 of the packs’ 24 played. but i guess it doesn’t really matter when you’re paired with rozi.

by #17ToTheRafters on Dec 4, 2009 2:59 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

really?

Why not Danny G? He’s playing better and he’s less of a reliability than Rozi…plus Heikkinen(thats hard to freggin spell, crazy Fins) is pretty offensive…yes, no? Leave MDZ with Rozi and Put Gilroy with Staal (what everyone wants)…fairly balanced then. MDZ has been the only one hitting anything…probably covering up for Rozi as well. I think its good to bring up Heikk see what he can do, it’s nothing against Sangs.

rozi and mdz proved they cant be on the ice the same time in the last few games.

their gonna go with.

staal rozi
mdz girardi
gilroy heikkinen

i would like to see stall either with gilroy or mdz though.
