Rangers GameDay: News and Notes, Scouting the Red Wings

RocNow.com has a great story on Ryan Callahan.

Here is the recap of last night's game in the NY Times, interesting quote from Henrik Lundqvist:

"Technically I’ve been feeling good the last couple weeks, but the focus part felt really good tonight," Lundqvist said. "It’s important that you don’t think too much when you play, and not analyze the game as you play. It’s just focusing on the next shot."

Here are the post-game remarks from Head Coach John Tortorella:

One final thought from me:

Explain to me again why these two Original Six teams meet once a year.

very good point at the end there about two original six teams meeting only once a year…the rangers should play the blackhawks and red wings four times a year two at home and two on the road along with playing the leafs canadiens and bruins six times three at home and three on the road…instead of playing teams like phoenix and los angeles

I agree, they need to revisit the inter-conference scheduling in the NHL overall

and it’s not like its that far to travel to DET or CHI, we have to go farther in distance to play teams in the Southeast division.

I'd rather them do that too.

tho, I like playing Phoenix and LA…you gotta play everybody.

I just don’t understand why they gotta play the division 10,000 times each year.

Could easily take 1 or 2 games away from each interdivision matchups and put that in a original 6 game or 2.

very winnable game tonight…im hoping they can build off last game and get 2 points…last night was pretty fun to watch even though not a lot of goals were scored….its cuz the rangers actually looked like they tried…i hope whats torts said about drury and him being more vocal is true because if the rangers are gonna get out of this funk its gonna have to start with him

its financially and timing make it out of the question. We all know how much TV has an impact on when hockey is played. The time zones would kill hockey as we know it

5 of the 6 teams are in the Eastern Time Zone, only Chicago is in the Central, an hour behind, hardly a game killer
