Wayne Gretzky almost certainly will be out as coach of the Phoenix Coyotes, should the NHL defeat BlackBerry king Jim Balsillie in an AZ bankruptcy court today.
One of the apparent conditions of sports magnate Jerry Reinsdorf's lowball offer to purchase the bankrupt Coyotes is to end the multimillion-dollar relationship with The Great One.

Ugh...
Tom Benjamin said it best today…
If Moyes wins today, the Coyotes will be in limbo while the league appeals. If the NHL wins today, they own a hockey team in limbo that nobody else wants. No matter who wins, the fans in Phoenix and around the league lose.
I get that the NHL doesn’t like Balsillie, but they are being stubborn to say the least.
they may not like him, but they may have to get used to him. There is some question as to whether the Reinsdorf offer is for real, and no one else is stepping up to bat to buy the team.
