To start things off, this rumor has been floating around the last 24 hours, but I can’t find any evidence that Darren Dreger actually reported it

Darren Dreger of TSN has even reported that Glen Sather has made an offer to the Leafs’ Brian Burke consisting of Wade Redden, Brandon Dubinsky, and Marc Staal for Tomas Kaberle, Anton Stralman, and their first round pick in this year’s draft.

wow....

I hope that isn’t true.

I want to get rid of Redden as much as anyone, but not at the expense of Dubinsky AND Staal.

I like Kaberle too, but damn. Staal was pretty much the Rangers top skater last season, and Dubinsky was right up there too.

So I guess his plan is Staal for Hedman? I dno how I feel about that, I’m aware of Hedman’s potential but the curse of early picks scares me. Another 2-3 years until Hedman would be NHL ready. He does have more size though. The biggest problem is losing Dubi.

ooo big error!

thought leafs had a higher draft pick, no way we’ll get hedman. Forget this…Dumping redden is nice but for Dubi and Staal, I don’t like it.

EVeryone on the hockey forums board is saying

that this is a terrible deal for Toronto. For Toronto? I would personally kill Sather if he did this Staal and Dubinsky are great.

Except that Wade Redden is a suck…
Kaberle is awesome. If the Rangers go into rebuild mode that deal almost makes sense. But yeah, like mentioned above, parting with Staal and Dubinsky…..pretty much defeats the whole purpose.

wings lick hawks

without Lidstrom or Datsyuk or Draper…none of these guys were bought. If only we could emulate this degree of scouting.

Apologize

I apologize for my inactiveness around here the last week or two, as I have been busy with myrangers blog and stuff. Anyway, what a disappointment to see the Hawks not put up a fight this afternoon, looks as if it will be Pens/Wings in finals once again.

I would be willing to part ways with Staal if that ment no more Redden

However, losing Dubinsky too. Ouch.

Lopez wants it away, and it's hit deep to left center, Andruw Jones on the run, this one has a chance... home run!!, Mike Piazza!, and the Mets lead 3 to 2!!

Wait!! Second Pick of the draft means Hedman!!!

Do it. Getting Kaberle to replace Redden.
Hedman to replace Staal and Stralman to replace dubinsky.
Do it. However, I doubt the authenticity of this trade rumor.

It doesn't mean Hedman

cuz the Leafs don’t have the #2….

Yeah, my mistake. Tampa has it

No deal then.
