RFA Enver Lisin

Are the Rangers going to sign this guy? or was this trade a move to just free up the roster. I can see them NOT signing him and trying to trade him with some other baggage(hopefully Redden) to dump salary to make room for a Heatley trade.

What is the deal with RFAs when do they have to be signed by? Who is left for the Rangers? Dubinsky, Zherdev? Any other key people out there that need to be signed?

Of course

They wouldnt trade a young guy like Korpi just to free up a roster spot. Unless they’re loading up for a trade, which seems unlikely given that no one on earth wants Wade Redden, this guy is getting signed.

I hope they package him Redden for a trade, but...

I think korpo is the same caliber of player so this trade doesn’t make much sense unless they’re going to sign him. He might fill a spot of another winger that might get traded, or to help Kotalik/Gaborik take over Nasland/Antropov/Zherdev’s role.

Cap Space

They are running out of space and will have to make some decisions about who to keep. He could get a two-way deal and spend some time in the minors. I agree that they wouldn’t have punted Korpi for nothing, but am not so sure Kotalik replaces Antropov/Zherdev’s production so maybe that’s where Lisin fits in: another enigma that upsets Torts, but at least one of his own choosing.
