Ortmeyer Signs With The Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Right wing Jed Ortmeyer is among five players who agreed to one-year contracts with the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.

Ortmeyer spent the past two seasons in the Nashville Predators' organization after three years with the New York Rangers. The defensive-minded forward played 51 games with Nashville in the 2007-08 season before injuring his knee and spending most of last season in the minors.

Ha!

I like how a forward with absolutely offensive talents is referred to as “defensive-minded.”

Sorry...

I meant absolutely NO offensive talents.

Love Jed. The kid gives all he’s got every shift. While his offense could use work (understatement), there are two sides to the ice. Hope he does well succeeding Mike Grier in San Jose.

That’s the best way to put it. Worked for everything he got, and he did give it his all every shift.

Don’t forget his penalty shot goal. :)

"Malik now." "6 foot 6, 238, not a noted goal scorer but he's gonna give it a shot here." "Malik has not scored this year. In on Kolzig, faked it....SCORES"
