In a move that has been speculated about for months, Cablevision announced today that they are spinning off its Madison Square Garden assets, including the Rangers.
Cablevision Chief Executive Officer James Dolan will become executive chairman of Madison Square Garden and keep his role as head of the New York-area cable-television provider, the company said today in a statement. Hank Ratner will lead Madison Square Garden.
