I don’t think Stan Fischler would be happy with ‘The maven’ being applied to someone other than himself… ;-)
Fischler is a douche...
He’s the most blatant flip-flopping, front-running geezer in sports broadcasting.

with Artie and Grachev playing so well together the question becomes the right wing because Lisin has played well with them, but if Kotalik is going to play with Drury doesnt cally have to play on the 3rd line?

its still hockey so if it was clean then it doesnt matter that its the preseason. If you think about it the pre-season is the most dangerous because guys are trying to make the teams
Blueshirt Banter: Covering the New York Rangers the only NHL team with three home arenas.

It was not clean, he left his feet and drilled him.
by KingHenrik on Sep 18, 2009 8:10 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Clean. It was a unfortunate set of circumstances. Dawes pushed Okposo to knock him off the puck, which did. The push set him head first into Phaneuf, who was already skating towards him for a check. It only resulted the way it did because of that. Okposo was bent forward after the push, which turned the “body on body” check, into Phaneuf running into someone half his size.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
I mean, I feel bad for Okposo, but Phaneuf shouldn’t get looked at for that hit.
Alot of people are overreacting because they overlook that aspect of the hit.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
very true
I mean a lot of people still give Kronwall crap for the hit on Havlat in the playoffs but there’s a picture floating around online that shows it was perfectly legal. Its a circumstantial thing for a lot of people (ie who’s involved, teams playing)
by Casey Richey on Sep 18, 2009 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions
Barely legal hit. I didn’t think that in the split second that Okposo got jostled from behind and put his head down that Phaneuf could ease up – but others disagree with me.
For the preseason, it was unnecessary.
What most Isles fans are upset about is he wouldn’t drop the gloves when it was done.
He now has a huge bulls-eye on his whole body – anybody looking to make a name for themselves will try to go at him.
well he has only played 30 min so far, so that is part of it.

Right now?
Gilroy’s a lock – probably had to really suck not to get the spot.
Other than that – I wouldn’t call it yet.
DZ has been noticeable offensively – but also noticeable (not in a good way) defensively.
This is Sangs first look – too early to call. Same with Heikkinen, and Potter.
If you forced me to call it right now. Potter. Because of the experience none of the others have.
Maybe against Bos. we’ll get a better idea
people keep citing potter for experience. potter has exactly 5 games in the nhl.

Kessel officially dealt to Toronto
The drama surrounding Phil Kessel has finally come to an end as the Boston Bruins have traded their disgruntled sniper to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 1st and a 2nd round pick in 2010, and a 1st round pick in 2011 pending a trade call which is currently underway.
Kessel and the Maple Leafs then quickly agreed to terms on a new five-year, $27 million deal.
