HMM
a little suprised by sending potter down..]
johnsons looked good, be we knew this would happen..
now to defense..
so between.. delzotto sangs semenov theyll pick 1-2.. i think semenov and delzotto make the team.. and if after 9 games delzotto isnt ready theyll bring up someone else
and forwards… this is what i expected.. exactly what i expected.. no point of keeping grachev up if hes not gonna make one of the top 3 lines.. so i think hell be sent down.. they just want him to play a bit more.. i think the other 14 all make it.. maybe parenteau gets sent down..
i think sanguinetti and grachev get sent down, and we go in with 23.. parenteau could also be sent down to leave us with 22, but i think hell stay..
id like to see anisimov play with gaborik and prospal.. and dubi play with cally and avery, just because they match up bes, but i dont think that will happen….
prospal dubinsky gaborik
higgins drury kotalik
avery anisimov callahan
brashear boyle voros/lisin/parenteau
staal gilroy
girardi redden
roszival MDZ
semenov
lundqvist
valiquete
Torts
“we’re not gonna look at age or draft picks or money, we want people who we feel have done the job through camp."
BS
If that were true, Rozsival and Redden would have been dropped off at Hartford on the way back to New York from Boston.
I hear ya DB

Do you really believe heikkenen and potter are better at this stage? They might be better value but they’re not better players.
We know the 11m duo is really overpaid but they’re at least NHL-caliber defensemen.

I’m not advocating for Heikkinen/Potter over R&R.
I know the reality is that they’re here for the duration – or until Sather can pull another Jedi mind trick out of his hat and unload one or both on somebody (which I consider beyond unlikely).
Heikkinen clearly needs time in Hartford to adjust to the North American game – he showed that he has skills but is not NHL ready.
Potter would be my choice over Semenov – who looks to me to be a less skilled in every way Marek Malik.
I think Malik is still available :)

i guess the forwards are all impressing so much theyre having trouble deciding who stays/gos. gotta love the desire of these guys and the competition.
as for D i would think the battle is on btw mdz and sangs. they must be thinking of keeping semenov as the 7th D man bc they wouldnt want sangs/mdz to be the 7th man and be a healthy scratch every day. if not part of the top 6 d-men, then they would want them to play and continue their progression. id say mdz has the slight edge on sangs, but that may just be bc weve seen more of mdz
yup.. sounds about right
i guess that RW spot on the 4th line is up for grabs.. between voros and parenteau.. lisin i think stays on as the extra man.. grachev gets sent down.. no reason to keep him on to be a scratch..
and on D.. its a battle between MDZ and Sangs.. whoever plays best gets the spot..
What about the kid Owens?
I like what I have seen of him so far. Got that goal in NJ to tie it up at 2. Looks like a smooth skater. I guess he will be sent down to Hartford now that Dubie is signed THANK GOD!
Other than that Gilroy & Anisiomov have really impressed me. Del Zotto is a kid you had a feeling that he is going to make the Rangers any time now. Started in last season’s pre-season camp. Him & Gilroy should be a future pairing or both should make the team.
Chad Johnson has poise, he is calm in the net and what a glove. I think Valie is gone at the end of this season. Other than that, let’s finish up this camp & get ready for the season.

johnson does have a sick glove hand. how many times has he flashed that thing allready.
i think i have stained a few of my drawers ala gilroys and AAs spectacular play. gilroy has stunned from the getgo, and i must say i was thinking what the big hype was at first about AA, but he has shined with nothing but flying colors since. definitely LEGIT 1st line C talent
mdz seems to be the wildcard in the mix. definitely capable offensively but has showed lapses in his own end from time to time mixed in with solid D play. id say give him the 10 day tryout and if it looks like hes not there yet, bring up sangs. i just hope semenov doesnt make the top 6, we allready have r&r holding us back
he wont
hes there for the 7th dman.. especially against a team like philly.. things like that..
so it comes down to mdz/sangs..
thats what the next 3 games are for.
what about...
moving Drury to wing, and keeping prospal at center?
Avery – Prospal – Gaborik
Drury – Dubi – Kotalik
Higgins – AA – Cally
pretty quick/tired/drunk thoughts here, but who knows? any thoughts on something like this?
There are 3 lines that can score pretty well. Can switch up Higgins/Avery, but I like Prospal at center, and he and Avery may form a great combo.
swap
dubi and drury.. and it sounds good to me..
actually.. id put drury at center, and higgins at LW on the second line..
actually.. id put drury at center, and higgins at LW on the second line..than move dubi to the third with AA and cally..
Defenseman
I still think we’ll pick up a veteran, stay at home defenseman before the season starts. Maybe to fill in the sixth/seventh spot.
semenov
??
i think thats where semenov come sin.. to be that 6th/7th guy..
gilroys a lock.. and the other spot is still up for grabs
Does Semenov actually count as a veteran? He seems to have been “around” a long time as opposed to actually playing.

Need to stack the first line!
A lot of inter-changeable parts on this team, but the Rangers have not had a feared first line since Jagr-Nylander- Straka. Must have a first line that teams have to plan and match against.
Prospal-Dubi- Gaborik.
Dubi is a great face off guy with speed, grit, and a quick release. Prospal has size and vision, an excellent passer who can win battles in the corners. Gaborik, well when he is healthy watch out. Remember how Pavel Bure got you out of your seat every time he touched the puck? (if only for a short time)…Look for Dubi to pick up a ton of rebounds and take some lumps!
2nd
Avery-Drury-Callahan
Nothing not to love about this line.
3rd
Higgins-AA-Kotalik
4th
Doesnt matter because Torts rides his horses BUT
Brasher-Boyle- Linsin
Send the human punching bag Voros to take a suck in Hartford. Linsin is a whip, and there is no substitute for speed.
Would be nice to have Orr-Betts-Shoe back on this team, huh?
well
first line i agree thats what it will be.. i actuazlly rather see anisimov with prospal and gaborik, but im sure dubi will be there..
now for the second and third lines..
drury is going to play with kotalik.. no question.. and ill preseason higgins has been playing with them and theyve looked good, so ill keep that line together..
than have avery anisimov and callahan..
if i could choose, id do this..
prospal anisimov gaborik
higgins drury kotalik
avery dubinsky callahan
brashear boyle voros/lisin
against a team like philly i rather have voros in there.. hes proven himself during the preseason..
and i really dont miss or-betts-sjo.. brashear is better than orr in all aspects of the game.. and will miss the PK of betts and sjo, but lets face it.. they couldnt score.. replacing them with boyle and lisin, who both arent really 4th liners, will bring ina lot more scoring..
no need to rush him
let him get his “sea legs” in Hartford.
