what ever happened to...

...Ryan McDonagh?

The rangers traded away Gomez for Higgins and Ryan McDonagh and i havent heard a lick of news since.

Did I miss something? Was this guy in training camp? is he under contract? was he traded? was i dreaming that they aquired this guy?

Not for nothing but this guy was near the top of our prospects chart since we aquired him. All this talk about Gilroy and MDZ and Sanguinetti, what ever happened with Ryan McDonagh?

He’s returning to NCAA hockey, so no training camp for him or other college players like Stepan.

yeah...

i kept googling him and i found some stuff on him playing in college… but nothing said he was returning or whatnot. I just came to the conclusion that, that is where he was playing this season.

i just thought he was NHL ready with the way people talked about him.

Rumors on the street (or on the internet) say that both McDonagh (currently in his Junior year, and one of 3 Wisconsin captains) and Stepan (currently a Sophomore) will go pro after this season.

If you go to the Wisconsin Hockey web page for their roster – they’re both listed.

He's a tri-captain for U-Wisconsin

It will be better for his career if he turns pro next season and plays in Hartford or with the Rangers, but I wouldnt blame him if he stayed for his senior season to graduate. I would personally go for the degree, but that’s just me. I would want to have a backup plan in case my career ended suddenly or I turned out to be a total bust.
