Saying goodbye to summer, and hello to hockey

In some ways, the summer has gone very fast, and in others, not fast enough.

I can't wait to have other things to talk about besides Brandon Dubinsky, Dany Heatley, Nikolai Zherdev, and Marian Gaborik's creaky crotch.

I can't wait to talk about who Avery's ticked off, how Chris Higgins is becoming a star, and Lundqvist being the lead candidate for the Vezina.

I can't wait for the daily debate that will take place on Wade Redden, Michal Rozsival, and Chris Drury.

I can't wait to hear the reaction after Donald Brashear busts somebody's jaw for them at the Garden.

I can't wait to see Gabby hang a hat trick on "Fatso" at MSG West The Rock.

I can't wait for the first "Henrik" chant at MSG.

I can't wait for Sam Rosen to say "it's a power play goal!" for the first time, and I pray its not in December.

One more week, I can't wait.

I'll be moonlighting over at Big Blue View today, its final cut day for the Giants and the NFL and I am in charge of the open thread. If anything happens on the Ranger front, we'll have it for you. Feel free to stop by BBV and check in.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend everyone!

Jim

This is a great read

Lots of laughs, and with Sam Rosen; hopefully we’ll be hearing “Marion Gaborik!! It’s a powerplay goal!” like 30 times throughout the season. I’m excited to see Higgins effort in NY which I’m sure everyone is.
I’m also excited to see who will flourish in Torts up-Tempo style of play, and of course how well our rookies this year will handle the bright lights of Broadway. The best time of the year is underway. Giants, Rangers starting up as well as the Yankees end of the season and assuming all goes well a post-season trip. Also one more year before I can really consider being a Knicks fan again.

too bad about the knicks.. i mean really, were terrible.. and im a mets fan, but not much i can say there..

im very excited to just see us play in general.. for the first time ina while were going to have a very um-tempo style.. 2 men on the forecheck.. STANDING UP THE FORWARDS AT THE BLUELINE.. FINALLY.. and pinching from the defensemen..

its gonna be fun to watch!!

lmao

Yeah, the Knicks weren’t all that bad last year. 3rd in the league with points scored, but their Matador-like defense that was like 2nd or 3rd worst in the league was horrendous.

It’s easily a classic, If Kevin Weekes was still on the team I’d probably remake my old sig from another site, “Kevin Weekes, putting the soul in goal since ’05” I loved the guy during his Hurricane days although he was garbage here. But with Jagr I think it’s fair to say he’s worthy of staying in Ranger fan sigs.
