The wily old vet Mark Recchi scores to tie it up at 1. I smell OT boys.

you see, when boston plays philly, you root for the away team, so that the fans attending will get their hearts crushed. didn’t work tonight…

derrick morris…sounds familiar.

Bring it to NYC

I really don’t care. Either Citi Field or New Yankee Stadium. The Rangers have to be apart of this for New Years Day 2011.

by NYR #35 Richter on Jan 1, 2010 4:08 PM EST reply actions

I think this was the first time in the Winter Classic that the home team wins it.

#17To the rafters

Honestly I wished both teams lost, but that couldn’t happen.

by NYR #35 Richter on Jan 1, 2010 4:19 PM EST reply actions

if only that was possible…we had a poll up here last year in regards to the good ol’ question – who do you hate with a passion? boston or philly. does anyone remember who got the banters vote?

and yeah, bring it to yankee stadium. rangers/leafs or rangers/bruins would be memorable.

wooo

congrats to cally and drury for making the US team

by Richter915 on Jan 1, 2010 4:22 PM EST reply actions

Need to respect him for what he’s done for USA in the past, so definitely congrats to Drury.

If Dubi doesn’t get hurt, he’s on the team.

cally makes the team.

bobby ryan makes the team.

Congrats to both Drury & Callahan for making the Olympic team. But honestly, I hope this is the last Winter Olympics the NHL gets involved with. The kids should get a chance.

by NYR #35 Richter on Jan 1, 2010 4:28 PM EST reply actions

why do you say that?

its not as if the rosters for team russia or team canada are dominated by 21 year olds.

by #17ToTheRafters on Jan 1, 2010 4:29 PM EST up reply actions

Would never happen, since team Russia would be loaded with KHL stars who would kill everyone.

by goodieNY on Jan 1, 2010 4:30 PM EST up reply actions

anyone notice zherdev isn’t playing for russia…again…

by #17ToTheRafters on Jan 1, 2010 4:31 PM EST reply actions

Wow, not gonna lie, best 3rd period and OT i’ve seen in a long time.

Great game and the announcement of Cally making the olympics was a great way to cap it off.

Oh, and Tim Thomas is one of the most all american looking guys ever. He looks like he could be a farmer in the 1950’s in Wisconsin or something,
