Bobby Sanguinetti sets AHL record for Fastest Skater Competition

I was watching this last night and he sure impressed.  His 13.67 Second Lap beat second place by 0.12 seconds.  For the record Andrew Cogliano won last year in the NHL with 14.31 seconds.

Although he was not much of a factor when we brought him up earlier this season, it will be nice when he develops and we have a defenseman that's faster than most of the forwards we face.

Wow

Damnnn I had no idea that sangs was fast like that…too bad he didn’t make a good Impression this year we could use some more speed on the blueline

Yeah and he looked comfortable skating that fast too

I saw a lot of the competitions and the least impressive was the goalie one right after the speed comp.

OOOOO. I am sooo excited!!! Wonder how much he can bench press!!! And how many pucks he can shoot in the net from center ice in 20 seconds.

Sarcasm aside this is fools gold. Hopefully this will trick some GM to thinking he is more valuable than he is so we can ship him out.

Am I the only person who wants to keep him?

by goodieNY on Jan 20, 2010 11:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I don't want him traded

But I also realize he’s expendable. I’d rather see him go than others.

They have so many d-man in the system that somebody will have to be traded. Sangs happens to provide more value than most, so he can fetch more.

I suspect that there are other d-men within the system who are less of a fit with the “Tortorella System” than Bobby. I don’t disagree that he has more value, but I’d prefer to hang on to a #1 draft pick for at least one more season.

Hell – anybody’s expendable for the right price. If the right package comes along – “See ya!!” But I’m certainly not shopping him actively.
