NHL Video: Save of the Year?

I was watching last night's Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs game on Hockey Night in Canada, which was a very entertaining tilt with a lot of energy, on NHL Network. Tim Thomas had an outstanding game in goal for the Bruins and was the reason the two teams went to overtime, and eventually a shootout. Well, in overtime he made a ridiculous save to rob Francois Beauchemin of what looked like the game-winner. In my opinion, this is without question the save of the year in the National Hockey League. Watch the sprawling stop in the video provided below and decide for yourself, but I think it was inhuman what Thomas was able to do...

Grand Larceny

So glad I picked him up in my 8 team fantasy hockey league as a free agent! He’s been amazing this year.

inhumane? Or inhuman? Great save for sure – he’s quicker than everyone thinks, and the proof there is that Beauchemin tried to put in the middle of the wide open net. It’s crazy… it’s like, with Thomas, you have to pick a corner when he’s not even there.

Meant to write inhuman, thanks

unfortunately for me I bet the bruins to cover 1.5. but, man was Thomas sick or what? He reminded me of a chinese ping pong player with the all the running around he was doing. great game to watch

two thoughts on timmy

1) I always thought he was a flopper…but after watching him more and more Ive been proven wrong his style is so unlike anything i’ve ever seen

2) I still feel that Thomas is a goalie who doesnt get enough respect as one of the best in the game today…I think people are still turned off by his style and because he’s so unorthodox

I definitely dont like Thomas at all, and I think its because of his unorthodoxy. But he is playing some unbelievable hockey this season.

Great save.

He kinda did shoot it right at his glove tho. I’ve seen Thomas make some great saves, probably some even better then this in the season already.

dunks aren’t impressive anymore… they happen all the time… i’ll be impressed with a dunk when a 5 foot guy dunks, not somebody who is 6 foot 9 inches and can already touch the rim while he’s standing cause he has a 3 foot reach… i’m not impressed by that…

yeah, save of the year

moreso unreal because he’s 35 and overweight. I’ve been calling him Butterbean for a while. Hands down the best save of the year.

I love that the NHL puts up all HD video, nice to watch that full screen with perfect clarity.

Let me know how that works out for you . . .

Hahaha I did something similar. Thankfully I was able to drop Rask and found Thomas in the free agent pool. I was lucky. Sorry Joe. Take care of your head by the way.
