is anyone really expecting a medal from this US team?
im predicting a 4th or 5th place finish behind Russia (gold) Canada (silver) and Sweden (bronze)
talent wise that is where they should end up.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 2:57 PM EST up reply actions
I'm expecting a Bronze
Honestly. I think the US finally has solid goaltending and does not have to count on John Grahame or Rick DiPietro.

It is going to
be very hard for me to root for Parise. I know he is playing for the Red White and Blue but I just dont like him.
i see commercials but hockey was on before it, so i guess ur on the wrong channel.

Hey Guys.....
where is this game being played? Doesn’t look like an Olympic size ice – more like NHL
"pain heals, chicks dig scars, Glory, lasts forever" - Shane Falco
just like cally before, all rangers do it.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:28 PM EST up reply actions
he shouldnt be on that line, kessel would be better there and let lang play with pavelski and malone
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:30 PM EST up reply actions
i think it is he knows he wont play on this team if he doesnt. lol.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:33 PM EST up reply actions
New Jersey boy. So he would handle the city fine
by christopherm on Feb 16, 2010 3:33 PM EST up reply actions
that was drury replacing cally on that shift…it has been ryan and 2 of cally, dru and backes this period.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:35 PM EST up reply actions
Drury is playing well

BOBBY RYAN IS PROOF POSITIVE WHY WE NEED A HIGH DRAFT PICK!!!!
Those are the types of players teams never trade, you either draft them or watch and weep. Score sheets don’t do players like that justice. He gets railed from behind comes out the next shift and bull dozes everyone, waking up the american team. Then what does he do next shift? Scores a goal. Total Stud!!!!!
O really? Well let me know when that happens. Just like Kovalchuk was going to be traded for 2 young roster players, 2 top prospects and a first rounder. :)
difference is Ryan is an RFA so if you give him a 5 mil contract the cost is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:15 PM EST up reply actions
it will be, but no gabby so tough to be jagr vs gaborik.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:40 PM EST up reply actions
ah hes still out. thats a shame, woulda been nice to see those 2 on the ice at the same time
by nyrangerfan521 on Feb 16, 2010 3:41 PM EST up reply actions
just when u didnt think it couldnt get worse u get VS + milbury.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:45 PM EST up reply actions
i would hope so it is in canada, let them watch the interview in the arena then.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:45 PM EST up reply actions
ha, he was doing the canadian women’s game yesterday.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:48 PM EST up reply actions
and not even calling it, i think i saw him do an interview like giannone.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:49 PM EST up reply actions
i want to see joe stay in canada and let maloney take his job.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:50 PM EST up reply actions
eh idk if that would be good for the nhl. sometimes they beat the defensive team to the puck and watever will cause less whistles is good for the game
by nyrangerfan521 on Feb 16, 2010 3:52 PM EST up reply actions
i cant believe parise-stasny-kane is still together…i mean is torts going soft, they didnt score for a whole period.
He keeps tucking on Wilson’s arm with new lines but Ron ain’t listening.
by christopherm on Feb 16, 2010 3:56 PM EST up reply actions
you gottaa dmit a pretty crappy shot by the Swiss
by christopherm on Feb 16, 2010 3:58 PM EST up reply actions
yea, miller has been over playing and left a couple open nets.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 3:59 PM EST up reply actions
thanks, it is definitely a commemorative item
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:02 PM EST up reply actions
the Backes goal unnerved him. He is backing up in the net now.
by christopherm on Feb 16, 2010 4:04 PM EST up reply actions
McGuire just called Pavelski a Poor Man's Joe Sakic
I want to slap him.

if it took u that long in the game to want to do that, then ur part of the problem.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:05 PM EST up reply actions
torts is confused 30 min and no penalties by his team.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:05 PM EST up reply actions
That's what I meant.
It’s like watching a team of Higgins. Even though he is gone and I still can’t get it off my mind
by christopherm on Feb 16, 2010 4:09 PM EST up reply actions
we would be down 3 or 4-0 against canada playing like this.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:07 PM EST up reply actions
I think it would be something like that too, I really think the lines of Backes needs to play the same way and too bad we cant give Kessel back and get Gomez or something
the backes-ryan-cally/dru line and the parise-stasny-kane line’s have been good the others havent done much.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:10 PM EST up reply actions
i dont consider 26 yr olds prospects.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:10 PM EST up reply actions
might as well ask…say somehow the rangers find some cap space this summer…would you give up the kessel package to get Bobby Ryan?
u mean the rangers? well kessel got 5 yrs 27 mil.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:17 PM EST up reply actions
nah i just didnt realize if he was a RFA or not after this year. Signing him as a RFA would probably end up costing the rangers more so i guess it would have to be a sign and trade. Im a big fan of bobby ryan but im not sure thats what the rangers need
well actual compensation if it is a sign and they refuse is a 1, 2, 3.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:21 PM EST up reply actions
all we need is a canadian capitals fan, lol.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:19 PM EST up reply actions
If this was Canada playing right now
score would be 9-0.
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:20 PM EST reply actions
if we were playing canada everyone would be crying, thats how bad the score would be
Do you believe in miracles?!!?!?!?!?
Al Michaels
did anyone see dru or cally that period
they were invisible, not that we arent used to that
Do you believe in miracles?!!?!?!?!?
Al Michaels
i think he is confused thinking the rangers with the 8th worst record arent one of the worst teams in the league. lol.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:26 PM EST up reply actions
most likely haha

What time does Canada play? anyone know?
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:26 PM EST reply actions
i would go after backstrom first, but i would consider ryan depending on what else they did. if they sold the pieces like they should to collect extra picks this year then yes i go after an RFA and give up future picks if that makes sense.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:31 PM EST up reply actions
but thats the problem, no way we go into sell mode to get those picks that we could use after the season
then i probably wouldnt on ryan…i still would on backstrom.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:34 PM EST up reply actions
cause centers are more critical than wingers in the playoffs imo.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:35 PM EST up reply actions
probably zero as i cant see the caps letting him go.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:39 PM EST up reply actions
semin would probably be the guy they left walk in another year.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:39 PM EST up reply actions
No way the Caps let Semin walk.....no way.
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:40 PM EST up reply actions
there is thing, maybe u have heard of it, called the salary cap.
green 5 mil, ovie 9.3 mil, backstrom will get well over 6, semin would get over 6. at some point someone would have to go. not saying they should but cant keep everyone at huge deals.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:42 PM EST up reply actions
yehh eventually someone will have to go, I think I’d rather see us go for Ryan this year than Semin next year since Backstrom is pretty much a zero chance
here’s why i would disagree slightly…semin is a UFA so costs nothing but money.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:44 PM EST up reply actions
true, I guess I just have something against him (semin) since his slap-boxing/playing the drums on Staal’s side as he was laying on the ice. lol.
not saying i want him, but the cost is less.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:46 PM EST up reply actions
he performs pretty well there against us, lol.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:47 PM EST up reply actions
i just think the fans will get on him for his lack of defense and lack of team game. He does score goals, does dangle like hell, but i see the garden faithful getting annoyed
Based on the clamoring for Kovalchuk here…I don’t think the fans will mind much.

by George E. Ays on Feb 16, 2010 4:49 PM EST up reply actions
yeah dont think u can put kovalchuck in the same sentence with Semin. It was like Jagr, we put up with him cause he was elite, Semin is not elite in my opinion
semin 30G 35A in 53 games this year
64G 80A in 115 games the last 2 seasons, that’s elite offensively.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:52 PM EST up reply actions
this is a bit off the topic, but is Ryan Kesler is rfa/ufa after this year? would like to pull him over to the rangers somehow
he wants 5 mil. he is not worth that.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:49 PM EST up reply actions
Rangers are a marginal playoff team
but def are not contenders…………………SELL!
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:36 PM EST reply actions
Well if we keep hovering around the 8th spot Sather will buy.
Strange to say but im hoping for some more miserable losing streaks
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:42 PM EST up reply actions
that’s the 2nd comment about olli keeping playing well and they keep hovering…there is 1 more day of games before the deadline so it is basically decided where teams and players are.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:43 PM EST up reply actions
Yeah really....what was I thinking
Deadline is the 3rd………….thanx Leetch….lol.
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:45 PM EST up reply actions
you could argue with the market that was set by cullen and moore that both prospal and olli could net us 1st or 2nd rounders as rentals.
Try to find a team that is a piece or two away and snag a 1st for Prospal
thats not ridiculous to think that. And if Ollie keeps up his good play, well then………..
by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 4:40 PM EST up reply actions
phx
lak
Ott
Buf
all teams that are just below the elite that adding prospal could bump them.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:45 PM EST up reply actions
Ottawa adding Cullen means they can’t pay the needed price.

by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:50 PM EST up reply actions
yeah but knowing sather
he will buy people who will get us to the playofss and give up draft picks and prospects for them

by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:55 PM EST up reply actions
go easy on him…he isnt used to passing so there will be a big learning curve on it.
by Michael Gleich on Feb 16, 2010 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

by giantsNYrangers on Feb 16, 2010 9:28 PM EST reply actions
