Yesterday was a big night. Carolina will absolutely pass us.

Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay

by George E. Ays on Mar 12, 2010 7:08 PM EST up reply actions

tampa only getting 1 vs toronto and florida losing kept it from being a perfect night but it was very good overall.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:09 PM EST up reply actions

also isles only getting 1…that was an UGLY game

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:11 PM EST up reply actions

yes, i think carolina will when you get 3 pts on back to back vs was and pitt

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:11 PM EST up reply actions

i dont know that even 20 out of 30 would get them in this year.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:04 PM EST reply actions

Alright, Chelios is playing tonight. Nuff said.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 12, 2010 7:07 PM EST reply actions

You have got to be kidding with the Avery scratch. Why is this guy Torts’ example of discipline most of the time?

I dont get it. So pissed.

by IAMARANGER16 on Mar 12, 2010 7:08 PM EST via mobile reply actions

how is he the example most of the time? he has been scratched once this year counting tonight. why they dont bench redden if they are sending a message is beyond me.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:10 PM EST up reply actions

You know torts has it out for him. Always gotta be the tough guy with Avery. That benching for game 4 last year was BS. Look at Averys minutes most nights. He plays him with nobody most of the time. Brian Boyle..ha

by IAMARANGER16 on Mar 12, 2010 7:12 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

im not saying he doesnt have it out for him, but he hasnt exactly been avery this year to say he is above a benching since his impact has been sporadic

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:16 PM EST up reply actions

I didn’t see anything that warranted a benching either. No late penalty or anything. Plus, wasn’t it just a few games ago that Avery was on like a 3 game point streak. Anyone know what might have happened?

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 12, 2010 7:14 PM EST up reply actions

well i think he only had 2 shifts in the 3rd.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:15 PM EST up reply actions

Prust up to the 3rd line. Gimme a break.

This coach is sloppy seconds.

by IAMARANGER16 on Mar 12, 2010 7:09 PM EST via mobile reply actions

guess i will throw this out there…if torts is back next year i think it is unlikely aves will be.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:14 PM EST reply actions

Aves for Player/Coach/Captain.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 12, 2010 7:15 PM EST up reply actions

Avery is fit for ny and this team. His half price bargain and 2 more years has him going nowhere before 2012.

by IAMARANGER16 on Mar 12, 2010 7:16 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

No Avery. No playoff spot. No HD.

What a Friday night.

2 points is the only remedy.

by IAMARANGER16 on Mar 12, 2010 7:15 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Oh yeah..he seriously boosts our hopes. Though since we can’t score lately, we’ll light up Header for 6.

dont put that out there, lol.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:29 PM EST up reply actions

except look at his career numbers vs the rangers.

3-0 1.9 GAA this year

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:28 PM EST up reply actions

AZ, you saw the sharks game last night? what the heck happened to turn a 4-2 lead into an 8-5 loss in 15 min.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:30 PM EST reply actions

Pavelski pretty much took over in the third.

by cookin26 on Mar 12, 2010 7:34 PM EST up reply actions

did the goalie collapse or were they good goals?

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:35 PM EST up reply actions

Basically Dan Ellis folded… couldn’t stop anything, and it became the Joe Pavelski Show. Ellis looked like Valiquette v. Pens earlier this year. Shots were actually 34-11 In favor of Predators after 2 periods. I thought Trotz was going to explode when San Jose took the lead in the 3rd.

by AZRangerFan on Mar 12, 2010 7:35 PM EST up reply actions

thanks, that’s a huge collapse considering the playoff fight they are in.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:36 PM EST up reply actions

one question on the projected lineup listed…we arent playing the caps so staal probably with rozi and girardi with mdz?

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 7:31 PM EST reply actions

did the caps clinch a spot last night? I know they had a chance to.

by cookin26 on Mar 12, 2010 7:38 PM EST up reply actions

They clinched the division.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 12, 2010 7:38 PM EST up reply actions

Well they had/have. But this team isn’t gonna do squat in the playoffs, and given how close they were to top 5, it seemed like a theoretically no-brainer.

Of course, the chance the Rangers sell is the same chance that humans will suddenly need to eat steel to survive.

Poor Gilroy..he really needed time in the AHL instead of jumping from College to this.

by Nyrfan23 on Mar 12, 2010 8:49 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, but to learn the game I think it would’ve been good for him. He’s not awful, but his positioning needs a lot of work.

by Caerid11 on Mar 12, 2010 8:50 PM EST up reply actions

he would be a lot better and so would all of the D if torts kept Schoney behind the bench

by Michael Gleich on Mar 12, 2010 8:51 PM EST up reply actions

Defensively anyway

by Nyrfan23 on Mar 12, 2010 8:53 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly, especially for Torts who rides the hell out of his top players. I think that’s his downfall-he can’t operate a team where the talent (or lack thereof) is more spread out and he has to use 3-4 lines consistently.

by bludgeon213uk on Mar 12, 2010 10:02 PM EST up reply actions

As much as every wants this team to tank, I will never back my own team to lose.

A win is a win, and I’m just glad to see us score and get two points.
Problems aside, at least we arnt at 5 straight losses.

How could you call yourself a Ranger fan and not be happy getting this win going into Philly Sunday?

Avery back in the lineup?

WHERE IS THIS TEAM GOING

NOWHERE. Each win this team gets hurts their chances of getting a top pick. In case you did not notice, THIS TEAM IS CRAP, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE CRAP unless the team adopts a different mindset.

Avery back in the lineup………….YIPPE what a difference!!!!

Your a punk, and a typical fan who would neglects the future and long term sucess of a team for a meaningless First round ticket elimination. Go party with Wade Redden, because your about as valuable as he is.

ALSO

The strength of this organization is its Farm System. THIS WAS A PERFECT opportunity for the Rangers to make an already strong farm system even better. Trading Prospal, Giriardi and co. while stocking up picks in the early rounds of the draft would put this team in a great position for the future. For it is OBVIOUS to any fan who has watched this team play, if it is to succeed in any way what so ever it will be in the future.
