Theoretically that is correct, but we still have to “post” them, which I didn’t do.

Redden is a good 1st passer. His outlet there was the equivalent of throwing it high over the middle of the field with 2 safeties in the vicinity.

the walk up the hospital ramp doesnt count.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 3:41 PM EDT up reply actions

As it turns out, the “scheduled procedure” that Jets coach Rex Ryan underwent Saturday was intended to assist with weight loss.

Specifically, the Associated Press reports that Ryan had “lap-band” surgery on Saturday at NYU Medical Center. He was at home in New Jersey the same day. The procedure, which is less invasive and risky than gastric bypass, places an adjustable band around the stomach.

we cant know if they did or didnt try, but if you were a GM would you deal with Sather and those crazy contracts? for all we know sather was going crazy trying to but know one bit

really u think if they were offering up prospal for picks, others balked?

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Andrew Gross told us that the Rangers had a lot of oars in the water, but the prices teams were asking for players were outta sight (See: Dom Moore for a 2nd round pick)

Blueshirt Banter: Covering the New York Rangers

Big Blue View: Unofficial New York Giants blog

by Jim Schmiedeberg on Mar 14, 2010 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions

exactly so we should have been on the sell side of that equation so the high price wouldnt have impacted us at all other than what we get back.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 3:50 PM EDT up reply actions

maybe not prospal, but Sather probably wasn’t offering him he was probably trying to dump R & R and Girardi lisin voros etc … useless parts in other teams minds

by Nyrfan23 on Mar 14, 2010 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions

well when we refer to sell we talk about what we could have actually traded for value (prospal, girardi) not the hopes of getting rid of our trash.

yeah but its Sather LOL

by Nyrfan23 on Mar 14, 2010 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions

talking about moving redden and rozi is not a selling discussion, it’s a prayer.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions

they would’ve had to deplete it to get rid of the R & R sisters

and maybe all the dumb GM’s were sans 2nd round picks after Dom Moore for a #2 happened?

Master of the squeegee

by FreeBradshaw on Mar 14, 2010 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions

The odds of either Rozival or Redden moving at the trade deadline were slim to none

However, Prospal and Girardi would have netted nice returns. Especially, Prospal.

well its not that far off. maybe 8-10

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 5:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Even you can’t think he’s been effective more than 5-7 games this year.

Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay

by George E. Ays on Mar 14, 2010 5:06 PM EDT up reply actions

So he's had a bad season. But I wouldn't say 5-7 maybe 20 or so

But lets face facts, he can’t do what he used to because the NHL has turned into the No Hitting Leauge

by AveryGod on Mar 14, 2010 5:08 PM EDT up reply actions

No a big part of why he is ineffective is because his hypocrite coach has him handcuffed

his lineup decisions

just make no sense. Lisin was never really given a shot.

by jcbuckn on Mar 14, 2010 5:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I was excited for Lisin

He was fast, and I could see he him steady 30 point guy. Maybe a little less. And torts just shit all over him

by AveryGod on Mar 14, 2010 5:12 PM EDT up reply actions

dont tell that to zipper who’s headline the other day was, “lising gets another chance”

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 5:13 PM EDT up reply actions

is was hopping Lisin and AA

would play more together and get a russian connection goin. But with torts they never got a chence to develop together.

by jcbuckn on Mar 14, 2010 5:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Not to mention

1) Waits until March to give Drury regular PP time
2) shuffles the line like it’s a deck of cards
3) Puts Redden and Rozsival out in key situations, especially empty nets.

the list is close to endless…

I don’t even care about that. He can say whatever the hell he wants if he were managing the team correctly.

Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay

by George E. Ays on Mar 14, 2010 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m aware of that. But I’m not going to sugar coat his season. Yes he has an excuse but he still hasn’t been good.

I’ll give him all the credit in the world for the Dallas game, Toronto early, today….but they’ve been few and far between.

speaking of torts, if he gets fired, recycled coach or new guy getting a shot as a head man in the nhl? there is a fan post about it, i put up a list of guys.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 5:11 PM EDT reply actions

I would want a fresh face, but I have zero faith in the GM to make a good coaching hire, since if Torts were fired, it would make him 1 for 5

Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay

by George E. Ays on Mar 14, 2010 5:14 PM EDT up reply actions

here’s the list i came up with see if any names float your boat.

Paul MacLean who is an assistant in Detroit and has been with Babcock for 7 years.

Also some coaches not in the nhl as minors and juniors guys have proven to be relatively successful when given a shot.

Scott Arniel: runs the canucks AHL team in Manitoba (48)
Rob Murray AHL bruin franchise; Kevin Dineen Portland (Buffalo’s AHL team)

Bob Boughner: certainly not a shrinking flower who led Windsor to an OHL and memorial cup title last year and might again this year (38)

Another name if he wanted to make the jump might be Mike Eaves who coaches our badger boys at Wisconsin.

by Michael Gleich on Mar 14, 2010 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

i feel like they need some continuity though, another head coach, more free agents likely coming in, its a tough choice

by John Merrigan on Mar 14, 2010 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

Barry Melrose or Janet Gretzky.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 14, 2010 5:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe 20 on the nose if he had an outstanding year.

He’s had one season with 10%+ shooting percentage. He needs 200 shots to get to 20 with that rate, and he just doesn’t shoot that much.

At his career rate (8%) he needs 250 shots.

His career high shots is 189 in 75 games.
