tonight should be a very interesting night with a lot of implications both if the rangers are going to make the playoffs but also pick slotting if they dont. not to mention boston/pitt in beantown.

its almost soothing to hear JD’s voice again

by 8kpower on Mar 18, 2010 6:43 PM EDT reply actions

“we need the points Sammy baby.”

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 6:47 PM EDT up reply actions

highlight of the night might just be seeing Leetch lace up the skates again.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 6:54 PM EDT reply actions

brooks article today on torts slamming dru for his comments was very good

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:01 PM EDT reply actions

Going to disagree with you on this one.
Brooks’ diatribes aimed at Tortorella are beyond “old” at this point.
He needs to go back to journalism and report instead of pontificate. Andrew Gross, as an example, can get the same point across without getting nasty/personal about it.

Oh – wait. Brooks writes for the Post……

MSG executives : Hey, lets broadcast a 3 dimensional hockey game

that should be really cool and really fun right?

Yeah it would be but NOBODY has a 3D TV

Thats ok we’ll do it anyway…………

by giantsNYrangers on Mar 18, 2010 7:02 PM EDT reply actions

just means more people like Esa spend 20 bucks a head to see it.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

I would be happy to get more games in HD. No 3-D yet please.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 18, 2010 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

holy crap torts broke vinny and gaborik apart

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:02 PM EDT reply actions

only took 2 months to put this line back together.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Only took him however many games to decide to put Dubi-EC-Gaborik back together.

I say it’ll last at least 6 minutes.

26 games to be exact.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

sigh am I really watching this game?

Effectively

6-5 with a .940 sv%

Christ we’re terrible.

Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay

by George E. Ays on Mar 18, 2010 7:08 PM EDT reply actions

what’s worse is a .940 SV% and a 2.38 GAA so that means he is getting 30+ shots on him a night

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

hi.. I just turned on the game, we are already down 1-0 after 2mins. Jeeze.

by oywiththepoodlesalready on Mar 18, 2010 7:12 PM EDT reply actions

prust got him early but this might not end well.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:12 PM EDT reply actions

someone tell me wtf good is jody shelley when he has 1 fight in his time here? meanwhile prust has at least 4 or 5 at half the size.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:14 PM EDT reply actions

How about Prust going in the box and Shelley/Boyle staying out there.

that was a good fight. prust is the man.

by WalkerNYRanger on Mar 18, 2010 7:14 PM EDT reply actions

that was a mismatch…………..but Prust hung in there

by giantsNYrangers on Mar 18, 2010 7:15 PM EDT reply actions

he can do that if you notice in the fights where he is near the boards, helps to equalize the size a little.

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:16 PM EDT up reply actions

I think I just enjoyed that Sam thought Conklin’s pads sound like metal.

this is what i mean though only smurf called out mdz on the last one and lots jumped on rozi, what’s up with that?

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 7:40 PM EDT reply actions

Perhaps because MDZ was just caught being aggressive, while Rozie was caught being a slow ass overpaid defensive suck?

MSG stopped showing the Replay on Goal#2

It shows Redden tipping the puck after it passed drury clean. Hank was pissed. Then Good Ol’ Wade takes a lazy penalty a minute later. Result 3-2 St Lou. Redden is a Cancer!!! The Team Knows It. Let’s not wait until next October to take care of this

Yep – basically working off the March ISS Rankings – they seem reasonable to me.

I think next season is already a loss. There’s nothing really available in FA that could be of any help, so it’ll be the same exact team, again. We might bring up a few AHL guys (though Grachev is flat this season, I think he’s got like 16 goals…) and maybe Sanguinetti (if not next season trade him before his value really plummets). Other than that…it’s like being an Islander fan. There’s no hope, but we’ll root for them anyway.

grachev probably gets a 2nd year in hartford like AA

by mleetch352 on Mar 18, 2010 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Does a prospects value plummet (Grachev in this case) if he basically repeats a year at the minors? I’m thinking because it seems like Sanguinetti has been in the minors for a few years as well

It goes down in terms of trade value. It technically should develop the player further and help them learn the game, but the more time they spend in the AHL means they’re not really learning the game, and not working hard enough to get into physical condition/shape for the NHL.

it depends on age and development. EG just turned 20 while sangs is 22.

Hopefully MDZ fills out some, and I think next season has to be Dubi’s season-his contract is up and we all feel he’s got more to offer-I look for him to step up. Maybe we’ll get Volchenkov for a few seasons, and hopefully some more size/snarl on D. Forwards..ugh it’s gonna be the same, if not worse, than this season.
11-12 season will hopefully be a ray of hope as hopefully Stepan/This year’s first/Grachev (if not after next season, he won’t really make it big)/Kreider possibly?/McDonagh. Better FA year too so hopefully we clear some cap space for it. 12-13 and 13-14 seasons hopefully deep playoffs, after that, it’s cup or bust.
