leetch instead of redden; graves instead of boyle. if chelios can do it at 48, they can do it now. lol.

Going to disagree with you on this one.
Brooks’ diatribes aimed at Tortorella are beyond “old” at this point.
He needs to go back to journalism and report instead of pontificate. Andrew Gross, as an example, can get the same point across without getting nasty/personal about it.
Oh – wait. Brooks writes for the Post……

Only took him however many games to decide to put Dubi-EC-Gaborik back together.
I say it’ll last at least 6 minutes.

doubtful cause he looks awful handling the puck early at least.

someone tell me wtf good is jody shelley when he has 1 fight in his time here? meanwhile prust has at least 4 or 5 at half the size.
How about Prust going in the box and Shelley/Boyle staying out there.

Winter season being stuck in the office…same, I keep up with stupid shit, out-of-state races…it’s mostly nauseating. They missed open nets
They had defensive breakdowns (which happen to the best teams)
and Hank wasn’t sharp.
It ain’t the damn captain and it ain’t the coaches.

Do the Rangers have to be one of the bottom 5 teams in point total to have a chance at the top pick?
The Rangers don't have anything
that anyone would want. Forget about trading up. Won’t happen, IMO

We’d have to give up something that’s part of the future, and in reality, it doesn’t really happen in the NHL. It’s not the NFL.
If we can manage 6th-8th, we should be able to get something good, hopefully Nino.
At 6 thru 8, Nino, Kabanov and possible Gudbranson should be available. All very good choices – but maybe not NHL ready for September.

I think next season is already a loss. There’s nothing really available in FA that could be of any help, so it’ll be the same exact team, again. We might bring up a few AHL guys (though Grachev is flat this season, I think he’s got like 16 goals…) and maybe Sanguinetti (if not next season trade him before his value really plummets). Other than that…it’s like being an Islander fan. There’s no hope, but we’ll root for them anyway.
grachev probably gets a 2nd year in hartford like AA
by Michael Gleich on Mar 18, 2010 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions
Does a prospects value plummet (Grachev in this case) if he basically repeats a year at the minors? I’m thinking because it seems like Sanguinetti has been in the minors for a few years as well
by NastyNate82 on Mar 18, 2010 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions
it depends on age and development. EG just turned 20 while sangs is 22.

Hopefully MDZ fills out some, and I think next season has to be Dubi’s season-his contract is up and we all feel he’s got more to offer-I look for him to step up. Maybe we’ll get Volchenkov for a few seasons, and hopefully some more size/snarl on D. Forwards..ugh it’s gonna be the same, if not worse, than this season.
11-12 season will hopefully be a ray of hope as hopefully Stepan/This year’s first/Grachev (if not after next season, he won’t really make it big)/Kreider possibly?/McDonagh. Better FA year too so hopefully we clear some cap space for it. 12-13 and 13-14 seasons hopefully deep playoffs, after that, it’s cup or bust.
