Just a reminder, we will be covering the big "Fire Sather" rally live this afternoon on Blueshirt Banter Radio, beginning at Radioproto12400_medium 4:30 PM EST. Eddie and Joe will be live on the scene, Mandar will join me on the studio side. Ok i heard that guy NYRsomethingRichter say Messier for GM

I love Mess as much as anybody else but im not ready to give him the reigns of this team just because of what he did as a player. He is totally green and has no GM experience in the NHL. I want some1 w/ previous experience and a proven track record…..now to ask me who I would like, I wish i could answer that but I know it’s not messier

Yes it was me. I wasn’t looking at it from a 1994 angle. I was looking at it for bringing out the fire, heart & passion to return to this team. But any decision to bring in someone who is much better & smarter than Sather I’m all for it.

You gotta remember.....to bring out the heart, passion and fire

that job falls on the head coach. he is the 1 behind the bench, running practice and spending all his time w/ the players. Not the GM.

I understand. But sometimes the GM has to come down and be that extra voice to help out the coaching staff.

100 % agree with giantsNYrangers fan

The coach is the one whom has to have the team, prepared both from a mental and physical standpoint. The GM is the one whom has to be precise in the decision making assembling the product on the Ice. This intails spending money effenciently and proactivly thinking of the teams plans for the future by drafting players to fill holes and fit the culture of the team. Sather with exception of moving some big contracts this year and drafting well the passed 3 years, otherwise he has done a poor job spending money on the right players.

Exactly, im tired of Sather having to try to pull himself out of the huge money holes

he digs himself into every offseason of bad, big money contracts. he has been very lucky to find Gm’s more incompetent than himself in Sutter ang Gainey to unload some of these players. you dont get lucky every yr.
