Looking Back At The Tea Leaves......Most Of Us Suck.
I think it's time to throw out my 8-ball.
Remember back in September when we all made our fearless predictions for the Rangers 2009-10 campaign? With the season behind us, I thought we should take a look at how some of us did in those bold predictions:
Utter Failures:
Me, for saying Matt Gilroy would win the Calder, Ryan Callahan would score 33 goals, and Sean Avery would have a career year with 55 points.
Bm4vo1 and Calm Down, for saying Enver Lisin would be the breakout player of the year.
Bm4 again, for saying Wade Redden would play better under Torts.
Ranger Smurf, for saying Brashear would be 37-15 in fights, Michal Rozsival would be traded, and that no returning Ranger would have less points than last year. Smurf joins me in the "Epic Fail Hat Trick"
MattPwrcf1 also ran the table of bad predictions, saying Artem Anisimov would go to Hartford, Michael Del Zotto would go back to juniors, and that Bobby Sanguinetti would have a strong season for the Rangers.
Joe Fortunato, for saying the Rangers would win the division.
Ok, now that we've pointed out the worst, let's bring you some of the best:
RangerFan5 and Lunkwill Fook, both nailed their Gaborik prediction of 42 goals. Props to both of them, and thanks to their great Gaborik prediction, we will ignore their miscues, like RF5 calling for 18 Lisin goals, and Lunk saying Rozy would score 10 goals.
CTRangers Fan and Poe678 both called for big years out of Vinny "Bronze God" Prospal, and while Vinny did have a good season, his grasp did not exceed their reach.
Great job by everyone, and we'll do this again in September for the 2010-11 season.

It's an honor
I take with pride. I will be going for the “Enough Epic Fails to Field a Baseball Team” this year, with more predictions clearly speaking from orifices they shouldn’t be.
Camp Tortorella - Where Vomit is a Mainstay
I was actually 0 fer 5. Though I was pretty close on “The PP and PK will finish in the top 10.” 13th and 8th.

That's just.....
wrong. On so many levels.
The good news – I’m not listed.
The bad news – I should be. And I think you know why……
O hell no.....
ROFLMAO
I would be WWAAAAAYYYY up on the EPIC FAIL list.
My prediction was done on the Radio Show – so it probably doesn’t appear “in print” anywhere….
Rozy
Fundamentally, there’s little difference between 3 goals and 10. :)
I m dissapointed in Bobby S. I though he was going to turn out fine, but now I m not sure. I still don’t think he was given enough time to show what he can do, but I thought he would play better in the games he did play in for the Rangers. What do we do with him now? See how he does in training camp or maybe trade him? Any thoughts?
I’ve said it a few times-I think the decision is between Gilroy and Sangs. We keep one and dump the other. If Sangs looks ok, I’d rather trade Gilroy because Sanguinetti has more upside and less cost, and being younger while playing in the AHL a few years will probably bode well for his defensive game.
When it comes to handicapping the Rangers…..WE ALL ARE PATHETIC.
This team let everyone down.
Back in 1994, I hated every trade Smith made at the trade deadline……..I thought the Rangers and Smith scewded up the whole team…..
Just shows how hard it is to put together not just a good team, but a Championship team.
All I really do know, is that Glen Sather is HORRIBLE and needs to go away NOW……..
It’s going to be a long Spring/Summer………
“#4. Joe Micheletti says "that release is so quick" when referring to a Gaborik shot around 120 times during the year.”
See, now I think I won that one.
"Jaromir Jagr.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
- Sam Rosen
"Marian Gaborik.... it's a POWER PLAY GOAL!"
-Sam Rosen
I def heard him say it more than 120 times more like 250 times lol
