i wanted the the pens to lose to the caps in the eastern finals, for the sake of the nhl, lord knows they could use some pub, and then have vancouver/chicago beat them in the cup finals :)

I dont like Lundqvist but last time I checked having a differing opinion is still legal.

Anyone wanna fight me on Crosby vs Ovechkin now? If you do you need help or lasik surgery. Best of luck to you.
The East is there for the Pens to take now. Halak will be tough tho so it will be a good series.

didnt realize

has a part in mike green being incapable of playing defense. or that it’s ov’s fault that every secondary scorer not named backstrom didn’t bother showing up

the only person who needs help is the dumbass that would seriously take one series in which the OV was a PPG and lost because his team sucked, and use that as evidence in an argument that Sid is better.

by j0ehoe on Apr 29, 2010 9:54 AM EDT up reply actions

Ovechkin was shut down last 2 games. Some players rise up in the playoffs and some dont.

Ovie was the best player on the ice except for halak. I dunno how you can say he didn’t rise to the occasion. If it wasn’t for that iffy call he woulda scored the game tying goal and who knows what happens after that.

To say he didn’t show up is showing how ignorant you are.

You are a moron

He did pretty much everything possible this series, including the last two.

by j0ehoe on Apr 29, 2010 12:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes, he does. Ovie’s the captain, and one of the best player’s in the game. It’s also his job to make others around him better. That doesn’t just mean making them better point producers because they assist on one of Ovie’s goals. I know it’s a hard concept to grasp.

Ovechkin’s contract – 9 million…. Bruce Budreau’s covering his face when Moore scored—priceless…and I loved how Sam would scream, “SAVE HALAK!!!” Habs in 7. Anybody pick that?!

by mike1967 on Apr 29, 2010 6:09 AM EDT reply actions

No I didnt

But Did you catch the game where he yelled Save Lu-Halak!!!… mad funny. :)
He wanted to say it

by louielounz1 on Apr 29, 2010 12:30 PM EDT up reply actions

LOL, then I could see Sam turning off his mic and going “Fu%$^^ing Olli Jokinen, that could’ve been Henrik stealing the series for the Rangers!”

Couldn’t be happier. I’m sorry but I can’t stand a captain who comments on the other team’s goalie as having some sort of shaky glove. Keep your little statements to yourself.

Hard work prevails again – grats Canadians.

Halak stole this series. They were totally dominated the last 2 games. Did Montreal work hard? For sure. But so did the Caps and the difference was goaltending. Not because Ovie didn’t show up.

Original 6?

Anyone else rooting for Original 6 teams the rest of the way?
I know I am.

Chicago>Vancouver
Detroit>San Jose

Boston>Philly
Montreal>Pitt

Chicago>Detroit
Boston>Montreal

Chicago>Boston

(This is not likely, just who I’m pulling for.)

by Mike_from_NNJ on Apr 29, 2010 9:54 AM EDT reply actions

I’ll take Chicago too-used to love watching them back in the Roenick/Chelios/Suter/Smith/Belfour/Goulet/Amonte/Larmer days, shame that team never won a cup-they should have.

by Caerid112 on Apr 29, 2010 10:08 AM EDT up reply actions

I’m so happy this happened. The look on OV’s face and Budreau covering his up was just classic. OV looked like he was going to pout to mommy at the end there.

The only disappointment I have so far in this playoffs is the Yote’s losing to the wings. I was really hoping they would pull it off.

by HolyCow02 on Apr 29, 2010 11:08 AM EDT reply actions

Caps

The only reason I was kinda pulling for the Caps is because I felt they had the best chance to beat Pitt. I really, REALLY don’t want to see Pitt (or Detroit for that matter) in the finals or raising the Cup again this year.

by Mike_from_NNJ on Apr 29, 2010 11:11 AM EDT reply actions

I

I have to agree with you. But I really don’t want to see OV raise the cup either. I would probably throw up

by HolyCow02 on Apr 29, 2010 11:39 AM EDT up reply actions

This is supposedly is bad for Hockey?

I don’t know I think watching OV lose is great for hockey!

by louielounz1 on Apr 29, 2010 12:33 PM EDT reply actions

TV ratings if Pens played Caps-sort of like LeBron playing Kobe, Skanks vs. Red Sucks, Pats/Colts etc. Good for hockey purists who hate cocky, flashy teams, bad for TV rating markets.

by Caerid112 on Apr 29, 2010 12:35 PM EDT up reply actions

It is so sweet to see the Caps lose when leading 3 games to 1. It is sweeter when you realize the Capitals are the first team in NHL history to lose a series to an 8th seed when leading 3 games to 1.

Caps fan making fun of the Rangers last year… this is great. I’m almost glad that the Rangers lost to Philly the last day of the season. If the Rangers won, this great moment in history would never have happened.
