PrintThe New York Rangers will complete their European preseason friendlies in their matchup against EV Zug of Switzerland this afternoon.
The Rangers are 3-0 so far, and are looking to go a perfect 4-0 before they have to worry about the regular season opener October 7th.
Thus far we have gotten a good look at what the starting roster might look like against the Los Angeles Kings. And although nothing has been et ins tone yet with the 13th forward position, we should know a whole lot more on that subject when the final whistle blows this afternoon.
After playing just the first half of yesterday's game, Henrik Lundqvist won't even dress tonight. Martin Biron will get the start and will be backed up by Scott Stajcer. Obviously Lundqvist is expected to start against the Kings.
We'll also be keeping an eye out on the Marc Staal situation, but for now, enjoy the game guys!

One thing not game related, and I remember this from 2008 when the Rangers went to Europe – the Euro tv feeds are soooo much better produced than US ones. Their usage of slo-mo in such a fast game is superb, and really shows the skills of this level of players. If anyone watches enough soccer, the same kind of production is in use. Slo-mo is hockeys friend.

Staal can have a setback and Sauer has been banged up all camp and even if he plays Friday one hit could pthim out a while. Need better depth.
i have no words for this. i dont know what to think. yes its 4 games in 5 nights in a few different countries but this is still not an NHL team. this game shouldnt be this close and i dont like whati am seeing out of Marty. Our defense is awful but i think the fact that erixon was sent down means that Staal’s condition isnt too bad and sauer should be fine too….at least i hope
Don’t discount that travel so easily. I generally don’t want to leave my bed for 48 hours after overseas trips.
Time to go slit my wrists. I would hate to see the negativity if we lose a game in regular season.

So it takes Zucc a half season + to get used to a smaller rink, but the rest should go from regulation to oversized rink with no problems? D would be the hardest to adjust to this too, due to positioning.

and may play against two really good teams over the weekend.
This team would get lit up on the smaller rink.
They are always sending a guy running when they don’t even have possession.
They’ve beat our defense 4 times with that play. It’s like cherry picking in a beer league.
