Gaborik for Nash???????
With all the good feelings for Gaborik lately,i would like to pose a question, would you trade him for Rick Nash straight up right now, money would just about be a wash, and lets remember last year when just about all of us were running him out of town,to be honest i would think long and hard about it ,but still might pull the trigger, yes Gabby is playing great hockey, going to the net playing gritty something we dont see from him often, but will it last,i hope so for our sake, well what do you think.Do you pull the trigger ......your thoughts......

Both players have NTC.
Rick Nash has a complete NTC until, I think, 2014-2015 season.
Rick Nash has stated several times that he wants to play in Columbus and make that team into a winner. They also very recently went out and got him one of the best centers in the league to finally help him. Most of the talent on that team is under 30 years old and although Steve Mason is getting destroyed this year he is a young, promising goaltender.
Furthermore, why would Columbus trade the face of their entire franchise for a player who is two years older, injury-prone, and arguably less talented than Nash? It makes absolutely no sense.
If we are in a fantasy world, like NHL 12’s trading system, and if you are asking me if I would do the trade then? I would probably do it. Nash is a big body and a tremendously gifted player who has shown a great resilience to injuries throughout his career. He is also under contract for a longer period of time (though his cap hit is greater than Gaborik’s).
So I doubt that it would happen in the first place.

Right now, no. Keep Gabby with the Rangers. Him, Anisimov & Stepan are looking awesome.

This sounds like something I would post...
I may have some stupid trade ideas, but for this one… HELL NO!
Gabby is heating up. Why trade one of our best players. I would do the deal if its the deadline and he has less than 15 goals and clearly cannot develop chemistry with anyone. But now.. NO! NO NO NO NO NO!
IF we had to trade anyone… Redden!
Not at all
Why trade him? He’s leading our team and scoring, and has been flying lately. No reason to trade him.
Why can’t people ever be happy with what we have……Gabby is playing out of his mind right now and you want to see if you can get something better? dude right now no one can play better than Gabby.

Well, he’s trying to get something worse in this case.

There has been talk about when the Blue Jackets might consider trying to start over rather then build around Nash. I don’t see a Nash for Gabby straight up deal happening though. The purpose of moving Nash would be to get as much as possible to build for the future, and Gabby wouldn’t be around for that future. We DO have some of the pieces they might be interested in (future draft picks, and young, cheap, players and prospects). After last season, I would have said make the move, and make them take back Gabby’s contract to make space, but at this moment, I think you get a decent return for Gabby on his own.
Gabby seems to be climbing back into “untouchable” status with alot of fans on here (and not just because he has a full NTC). I don’t know if I, personally, will ever trust Gabby to keep up this level, or even play at an elite level consistently. If there was a way to move him (and there’s not really), I’d be fine with selling high, and looking to get out from his contract and bring in players (a defenseman maybe) who can help this team. As great as the GAS line looks NOW, I’m not sure that they don’t sputter like the Zherdev-Dubi-Voros line did after there hot start in 2008.
Did you just mention Zherdev, Dubi, and Voros on the same line? I just threw up. Stepan and Artie are no way comparable to Zherdev and especially Voros.

Did you WATCH the Rangers back in 2008-2009? Those three played on a line together. A line what had a BLISTERING start to season. No one could stop talking about how good the line was, and had great the team looked after their smoking hot start.

That was then. This is now. If Anisimov is a zherdev we are in trouble.
