Welp

He’s right. Should be interesting.

No intent; no “target”; no history; no suspension. Pretty simple.

Its pretty clear in the replay – Wolski turns to get to the point, Aflie turns into him. Wolski braces for impact, elbow of taller player hits head of shorter, slouching player. Its essentially incidental contact. Wolski never even takes a step towards Alfredsson. To confuse Wolski’s turn to get to the point as going “out of his way” to hit Alfie, is absurd.

Either way, Rangers better be ready to defend themselves against actual Goonism on the 9th.

I just don’t think proves anything. The Sutton hit was drastically different, and there’s nothing there that addresses the unique circumstances of the Alfredsson hit… all these hits are different, they each have to be looked at according to the rules and the circumstances, not the results.
You’re talking about the difference between a calculated hit, and a collision. I see this particular one as much more of a collision than anything else.

?

All of those on the video were “collisions” … I’m saying as a former player its not hard to stiffen up/“brace for impact” and give someone a cold shoulder.

I’m sure you understand what I mean when I say there’s a difference between a collision and a calculated hit/check. What you described above, as a former player, is essentially incidental – how can you expect a suspension from something like that?
There was no targeting, or intention here. We can’t have suspensions based on the result of the hit – I understand people are upset that Alfie was concussed, but shit happens in hockey.
