Ottawa Senators Trade Chris Kelly to Boston for 2nd Round Pick

PrintAccording to TSN reports, the Ottawa Senators have traded Chris Kelly to the Boston Bruins for a 2nd round pick in the 2011 Draft.
Kelly has 12 goals and 11 assists this season, and has one year remaining on his contract.

Versteeg: a 50 pt guy that fetches a 1st and 3rd
Kelly: a 30-35 pt guy that fetches a 2nd
Either GMs are way overpaying, or they are getting word from their scouts that this year’s draft will be very weak

Both the teams probably realized they overpaid for the production they will be getting back. All the picks will be late in the respective rounds so it probably sounds worse than it is. It just means now that teams are going to have to give up a ton to get some of the better guys on the block

Flyers 1st rounder will probably be a more of a glorified second rounder and the Bruins are okay with their depth for a couple of years, IMO. Although…Kelly…Really?
