Awesome.
We need Staal in a bad way. We need a healthy Gaborik even more.
yes we do
Were dyen for a healthy gabby that actually puts the puck in the net. I have a question, was gaborik actually diagnosed with a concussion after his bloodwork was back? Because if he wasn’t and it was just symptoms, this dude is sooo soft it drives me nuts.

There's a difference between
Injury prone and soft.
I’d say Gaborik is the former. But given that the average person would probably collapse from one day of work outs on a game day, let alone a 2+ hour practice, let alone absorbing a full speed hit from an NHL player, I wouldn’t go so far as calling a guy soft.

Thank you, the Gaborik soft people need to stop the guy actually cares unlike someone in Jersey its just that he’s made of glass and it sucks.

Apparently we can’t joke about the “softness”. My prior comment went bye bye. Anyone who knows hockey understands that to get where Gaborik is you can’t be “soft”. The reality is his skill set is a great set of wheels and great hands, hence he doesn’t take the body and avoids contact when possible. This is fine, except he is without question injury prone and when you get that combination people growl with the “how can you get a concussion when you don’t hit anyone and avoid areas of the rink where contact occurs”. Bottom line, if Gabby could play and help the team win he’d be out there. When he’s ready, he’ll come back. Not a day earlier or later. I prefer to make fun of the situation and make references to him having female genitalia issues, it keeps the mood lite and we all need that these days with these one goal losses that feel like a knee to the groin.

Honestly I agree except that he does attempt to hit people, I see him do it every game. It may not be hard, it may not be a great hit but he trys to add that element into his game, fact of the matter is he isn’t built like a hitter. He is a skill guy and he trys this year his injuries have held him back but I don’t think any of his struggles are from his lack of trying.

It’s like Sather said about Wolski, you don’t get a 40 goal/80 point type guy without questions attached to why he’s available. From day 1 his contract is a certainly high risk/high reward so it’s a little late to have buyer’s remorse.

you can be a soft hockey player..
Gaby is one of them, in my opinion. Not every player in nhl is built for the grind mentaly and physically. Just because you at a nhl level doesn’t mean you can’t be soft, you talent alone can take you this far if your talents are on par with a guy like gaborik. People might not agree with me but that’s your opinion.

...
Crazy ranger fan, you says he cares like you actually know him personally. I mean come on my opinion here has the same amount of validity if not more, bc from what I hear he’s just bumming it around in the locker rooms and msg. That’s coming from a source who works for that organization. I’m not sayen, I’m just sayen.

He’s scored plenty of his goals where he takes the puck hard to the net and gets hit pretty hard in the process of making a play (I think this user Loffen on youtube had a compilation of his goals last year). This year he hasn’t done it as much, is it because of injury, who knows? Still, I don’t think you can become an accomplished goal scorer in the NHL without having the willingness to take and give a hit every once in a while.
He just has the misfortune of being injury prone. He’s probably never been asked to be the hitting and grinding player at any advanced level thus his game developed as such. If I had skills like him I’d do my best to get into the open ice in order to be in position to receive passes or exploit my advantage in speed.

its not that he can't take a hit
.. I mean he can’t take a hit either lol, but that’s not bc he’s soft its because he’s mad of glass. I’m just saying he’s soft because he has not been diagnosed with a concussion yet he still has these symptoms. I don’t understand it, lace em up get out there. Football players play through serious concussions all the time, its not a good idea but it happens. If he is having serious head problems I retract my statements. But this whole situation is sketchy.

you can’t say “he just has symptoms, get him out there” anymore…with all of the studies on head injuries and how badly the brain is getting beaten you need take every single precaution. If he’s having these symptoms then keep him out until he is guaranteed 100% healthy…I have no problem with everything that’s going on with this gaborik situation, it’s better to be say than sorry when it comes to the head
"Don't look now, but there's one too many people in this room and I think it's you." Groucho Marx
"He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot" Evgeny Nabakov on Garth Snow

A lot of smoke and desperate clawing at the door. It wouldn’t work. It would just be a big, hot mess." -Dig Deep
Concussions are often times a moving target as far as clinical diagnosis goes. And the old philosophy of putting players at risk without letting a brain injury fully heal is getting proven to be more and more of an astoundingly foolish decision. The rate of mental disorders and brain damage to retired NFL players is obscenely high compared with the average population. Thus, the huge movement of NFL players volunteering to donate their brains to science after they pass on.
Virtually any doctor would say they are handling his situation 100% correctly.

what happens if...
Gabby never had a concussion, and bloodwork came back clean and he’s just felt out of it from a grueling schedule and his brain is fine. Factor in him playing a full season basically last year, which he’s not used to and is just out of it from a grinding type of play this year. Would he be soft then? I never said the doctors are handling it incorrectly, I mean if your superstar payer comes to you and says I’m feeling like I’ve got a concussion you take every precaution possible. Sketchy part is the rangers repeatedly said they don’t know where it came from and his bloodworks fine. So my question is to you all if he just is feeling the wear and tear of a grueling two seasons back to back, and is fine consussion wise, would you all consider him soft? Like I said if hes seriously hurt sideline the guy for as long as you seem right, but there’s always going to be skeptics out there.

I think that’s an awful lot of conjecture as far as him wanting to take himself out because he’s worn down.
Also, the story has evolved since the initial announcement that he had a concussion. At first no one could remember him getting nailed hard enough to pinpiont a concussion. Then they reviewed tapes and suspect it was a hit by the Pens a couple of weeks ago.
He had plenty of time off at the start of the season, didn’t have to play in the playoffs so I don’t know if he’s feeling the wear and tear of two seasons.
