Captain Chris Drury returns for the Rangers' last game tonight. Gilroy moves back to defense at the expense of Eminger who is a healthy scratch. Sean Avery is also a healthy scratch (sixth time this season), Mats Zuccarello returns to the lineup.

Is it just me...
Or is it eerily ironic that Drury is back, exactly a year to the date of his last goal vs the Phylers last year? Yiiikes

My two cents:
Drury’s return to the lineup is one hell of an opportunity for him to play himself back into our hearts and minds. I stress this point though; it is not all on Chris Drury for the Rangers to win tonight. But if he manages to contribute tonight, to play like a true captain and leader and help the team get two points it will be doing a lot for his legacy if his time here is done. We will certainly see the team skate and work harder than we did against Atlanta (or at least we damn well better see that). I am trying to not be negative, I am trying to believe in the blueshirts.
Let’s go Rangers. It’s been a wild, wild ride this year. You overachieved, surpassed expectations and managed to terrify, inspire, and disappoint us here in the home stretch. Get one more win tonight boys, if Carolina wins they win… but anything other than a win tonight is unacceptable. I don’t care if we don’t get any bounces or if we get bullshit calls or the hockey gods are taking a big, steaming dump on our hopes and dreams tonight. Play through it, work hard, crash the net, get some dirty goals, and walk away with two points.

I’ve been really negative and disheartened about this game since the Atlanta stinker, but for some reason Ive been uncommonly confident today that we will pull this one out. Having Drury back I think will really help even though he’s been less than stellar this year.
I will feel good about whatever happens with Carolina as long as we fight hard and win this game, we just need to do all that we can and leave the rest of the BS up to fate.
Anybody notice that Carolina got a gazillion power plays last night?
My number might be off but it was close to a gazillion.
Calmer than you are.
