I’m still kinda pissed about the WC being on the 2nd, especially since it’s a Monday.
Sure, I certainly plan to go if i can, and will take off from work accordingly, but I wouldnt expect that to be possible for everyone assuming they don’t have that day off already.
If they’re so worried about their ratings/showing at the game so bad, they should also realize that a lot of people may have a hard time making it out on a Monday, especially if its a day game like it’s supposed to be. At least with the game being on New Year’s Day, almost everyone would be off. Who’s going to be able to watch the game from work if they can’t get off?
I may be getting a little too worked up about something that, in the end, won’t really affect me too much…but what about everyone else?
Thought’s anyone?

The Eagles are home Sunday (Jan 1st), so it would be a logistical nightmare. Plus, I think the NHL likes the idea of a night game now. I’m not crazy about it either, but it is what it is.

That’s the first I’ve heard about the home opener not being til the 27th..why such a long delay? And do we have a big break after Sweden?

MSG renovations. Assume the Rangers will return from Sweden the first week of October and spend the first few weeks on the road, although some of those games will surely be in Newark and Uniondale, which are unofficial home games anyway.

Why not do it Dec 31st? Noon on a Saturday seems perfect to me.
Can’t put it against Week 17 football especially at night when NBC will be carrying a probable semi-playoff game.

My guess is that Monday night has bigger ratings potential than New Years Eve.
