New York Rangers News: Leaked Jersey Is NOT The Rangers Winter Classic Jersey

PrintWith the upcoming 2012 NHL Winter Classic looming, I am sure all of you have seen this jersey floating around. Certian outlets are claiming that this is the Rangers official Winter Classic Jersey.
I have confirmation from the New York Rangers organization, however, that this is 100% NOT the Rangers Winter Classic Jersey.
So while it's fun to speculate what the jersey will look like, heck we're even doing a contest for it on the site, the jersey above is not what the Rangers will be wearing when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers.

I can see the rags busting out some variation of the liberty jerseys. A white heritage jersey is also a possibility.

I believe that rounded logo goes WAY back…so as a “classic” they might do it…

That logo is from the 40’s, so it wouldn’t be a “change” really

I think it’s evident the above jersey is a fake just by looking at the lettering. The letters aren’t as thick on that jersey as they are on the Rangers official logo. Plus, look how they aren’t centered or proportional. Reebok wouldn’t produce something like that.

Exactly, I also notice right away that it isn’t even Reebok tags inside the collar, it’s CCM. But yet it has Reebok tags hanging from the arm…lol. Not to mention it doesn’t even include the ever so famous Reebok Edge collar.

Not only did I google the hell out of this last year, I actually went into the HBO store in NYC to ask about this. No plans last year, but perhaps with NYR in it this year, they’ll do it. I sure as heck hope so. :(
I know they Caps ran their episodes on the teams TV on their website. I believe you should be able to go back in the archives and look at it again.

Of course, it’s a Chinese knock-off site. None of their jerseys are official, and they cost about $30. I wouldn’t trust ANYTHING that is on those sites.

i bought a blackhawks heritage jerseys from c2cjerseys.com for $50
they sent the wrong one, a black third jersey from a few years ago
wound up selling it on ebay for $90 and made a profit, but year, stay away from those unless you don’t mind getting what you pay for….especially because the shipping costs make returns an impossibility

I find it suspicious that BB manages to find the one pic of the one knockoff of a knockoff. If you do a search for “New York Rangers Winter Classic jersey” several websites carry the actual (knockoff) jersey which has all of the REEBOK and NHL tags on it, including the store tags.
Just look at those close ups! If those really are fake, then those bootleggers deserve an award for authenticity.
I think Blueshirt Banter is just trying to muster up more submissions for their crappy “design your own winter classic jersey contest”.

But all the jerseys are listed as authentic. If they were not authentic, they would not be listed as such. What a bargain too!! Just put my order in for 10 jerseys.

The NHL hasn’t even officially announced that it’s Flyers-Rangers (though we all know it is), so I’m doubtful any logo design is actually official.
