Lots of Home Games
The problem is the start time goes from 7 to 7:30pm. F— Versus.

almost find that as a good thing...
harder for me to rush out of work in Jersey and get to the game on time. So the extra half hour is actually a help.

I’d rather get home earlier during the week.

guessing you don't remember the old days of the standard 7:30 start

Exactly!
So loved 7:30 starts. Hate the 7 PM start, except when I’m at a game and get home earlier or if there’s OT. :)
7:35
Let me know how that works out for you . . .

i love 7 30 games much more than 7.
Parking is easier at the Garden and more timme to finish work before wathcing at home… also damn versus is covering a lot of our games at the end of the year. Nothing like MSG coverage
yeah...
as i said above the extra half hour helps if you’re working late…or if you’re actually going to the game you dont have to rush out of work to get there on time.
but my one question, is how is parking near MSG ever easier? lol…i usually end up paying cuz its too much of a hassle around there.

I generally rely on public transport… makes life sooo easy… and it makes getting home a lot safer when they either win by a lot or lose by a lot

Exactly part deux!
I just wish Metro North ran more trains up to CT after games. But growing up, NJT did and it was great. :)
No CT buses you can take to Stamford?

Possibly but...
I still need a train/bus to go up to Shelton, so it’d be even longer and less likely with connections. Good thought though. :)
MSG parking system
there are plenty of spots where u can park for free after 7PM and 6PM the problem witth 7 oclock starts is that u have to get there really early to get the 6PM spots and then have to wait a whil and there are limited, then u have to sit in your car and wait till 7 and kreider speed your way over to make it in time for opening faceoff. Now with these 730 starts i can leave an hour later get to the the City around 630 645 find one of these 7 PM spots, wait 15 mins in the car and then have all the time i need to make it to MSG on time. Also with this time you could even catch warmups
also
public transportation would be too annoying for me, i live up in rockland county and i find driving in a lot easier
You could just park somewhere on the west side and subway into MSG. It never takes more than 10 mins and you’ll save way more than that on finding parking

not a bad idea
but if i leave on time i usually end up getting a spot close to the Garden fairly easy and for free, the only problem is sometimes u have to wait 20 mins in your car before the spot becomes free
I wonder what they are gonna call that January 2nd game against the flyers?
Maybe the “End of fall Brouhaha” or the “Really, Really cold NHL Icecapedes”

Over a quarter of our games not on MSG.
Woah. Better for me, I get NBC and VS in college.
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

and it means I can watch the games in HD. stinking Fios. only sports channel not in HD.

lol it's not Fios' fault
Talk to the Cablevision owner who also happens to own MSG along with the Knicks and Rangers, Jimmy Dolan. Only Cablevision get MSG HD.
Proudly suffering as a Ranger fan.
"C'mon, vagina is my 3rd favorite hole." -Drama
Not really——NHL Center Ice may (i’m not sure of this) supply all the games in HD, but, in their infinite wisdom and utter profit-driven gluttony, Comcast does NOT send out the games in HD. Therefore, I pay Comcast to broadcast in regular tv games that I pay NHL Cener Ice to supply in HD.
It sucks, but it’s better than no Rangers!!
Not good.
They should allow Sam and Joe to still cover ’em locally on MSG and let Emrick call it for the rest of the world. :(
Love/Hate The Versus Coverage
Being i’m a Fios user I don’t get MSG in HD. F*** YOU DOLAN! So I like having the VS but I hate the announcing. Bring back Gary Thorne and Bill Clement and i’ll be a happy man.
I hated that when the Rangers played Bruins last year in the huge comeback win, that they had that NESN announcer (not jack edwards the other guy with the thick boston accent) announce the game. He was talking crap about the Rangers the whole time. It made the win even sweeter though.
Yeah I'm hopeful for Richards and Gaborik to work out... I mean how many FA signings does it take to hit the jackpot?
Yes that's Richards hoisting the cup in the picture. I'm hoping 9 years from now I won't have to photoshop that picture.

I cannot believe how many NHL games are on national TV this year. It’s like a hockey paradise. With the NBA likely out of action, hockey could see a big bump this year in popularity, which I think makes a lockout after the season even more unlikely than it already was.

Is it just us or are other teams getting this much coverage?

This was posted on NHL. com, but I have to question it as it does not mention NYR, and I have been known to be able to count, at least until 20.
“Boston and Philadelphia are tied for the most scheduled appearances on NBC or Versus, which will be rebranded as NBC Sports Network on Jan. 2, this season with 13, while Pittsburgh, Detroit and the Chicago Blackhawks will appear 12 times.”
I do know that the Panthers are only televised nationally (1) time.(They were bitching about it). So all the added pressure with 24 /7, TWC, and all these nationally televised games, I wonder how it will affect us.
I can’t wait for the season to begin, TG August is already more than half over.

If they only have 13 then we blew them out of the water. We’re getting around 60% more games than any other team, it surprises me that 1.) this happened at all, and 2.) that nhl.com is neglecting it. Oh well. definitely not gonna complain that we’re getting so much coverage on NBC and affiliate.

Canada must HATE
getting hosed every year by this network and its Canadian counterpart. The league would kill if games were broadcasted throughout, without the hindering restrictions.
Tampa must be creaming itself with how much coverage they get. Stamkos is put front and center.
