Traverse city can’t come fast enough. But too bad i’m going to have to watch it on crappy low definition thanks to Dolan… But that’s nothing new.
John Tortorella on 24/7 will be like Ari Gold on Entourage.

After reading...
Wolski for Martin wouldn’t be a bad move…but it comes a season too late, and I doubt Pittsburgh would do that, especially inter-divisional. Since Martin was a Devil, he’d be familiar to the Ranger players…but, that might actually make him not want to come and not waive his No-Trade.

Wolski
You know, I just had a thought that maybe we ought to trade Wolski sooner, rather than later. This coming from a guy in the camp that thinks he could seriously breakout this year flanking Richards.
He’s an interesting case. I think there is a problem with logic regarding his future, though. If he fulfills potential, that’s excellent, he sticks around, and if not, we can trade him. Right now, he’s still got that little bit of shimmer. If, after 41 games, he’s a dud, nobody’s going to want him. I think it could spell doom for his “promise.” Maybe we could still nab a late pick or something but it would seriously deflate any value.
What I meant to suggest was that
I feel like the consensus is that they can just wait and see with him, and if he doesn’t pan out then they deal him. I don’t think they would get much in that case, if anything. Maybe he walks and then finds another team, guys like him with natural skill seem to get endless chances. Here’s hoping for a solid year..
I immediatley disagreed with the premise of Chris's blog
after the first paragraph. Why are Tampa, Pitt, and Was the penultimate of comparisons when it comes to talent as it corresponds to contending? I’ll give Tampa the benefit of the doubt, they are a “new” team in this group but… Frankly Washington has been nothing but dissapointing with thier derth of talent. Pitt is extremely inconsistent. You want to compare us to someone compare us to the teams that have been in the cup finals the last two years CHI, PHI, BOS, and VAN. Out of those for teams the only one, IMO, that has head and shoulders more young talent. I think Boston showed you don’t need high talent levels to contend for the cup (not to say they don’t have talent), but I certainly don’t think they have players with more individual talent than us.
Sorry quickly typed. The only team I feel in that group of cup teams that has more talent than us is Vancouver.
Chicagois very deep and Philly still is. Philly has the best top five defense, and it’s not close.

Talent-wise, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Philly, Washington and Vancouver are superior to the Rangers. So is Anaheim. I’m not scared of Philly anymore like when Richards and Carter were there (also, Carter one-dimensional? Absurd…) but in 3 years when Giroux and Van Riemsdyk are All-Stars and Schenn and Couturier are on the verge of stardom, I will be.
And I would trade Dubinsky-Richards-Gaborik-Callahan for Sharp-Toews-Kane-Hossa faster than a heartbeat. Crosby can cry all he wants… he’s the best player in the league, and Malkin isn’t far behind. I’m not sure where you get that Pittsburgh is extremely inconsistent, having gone to the Stanley Cup finals two years in a row and winning once. Last year, they only had their top 3 centers on the ice together for 2 games. Two games.
And people downplay Boston’s skill-level, but they had a record-setting goalie and a defenseman known to break skulls and limbs.. he’s also a pretty good player. People forget that had Patrice Bergeron not been injured, he’d be a near-point-per-game player since the lockout. Dude’s fairly nasty.
