A Tribute To Those Affected By 9/11
I know I might be dating myself here, but oh well.
I was 12-years-old on September 11th, 2001. I remember some things, but not others. I remember getting called into the auditorium after english class so we can be spoken to by our principal. I remember hearing what happened and immediately calling my father, who works in New York, to see if he was OK.
He, thank God, picked up the phone when I called him; and said that although he didn't know when he was going to be able to get home with all the chaos, he was, in fact, coming home.
I remember walking home from school and talking to my mom, although I don't remember what we talked about. I remember trying not to watch the news, but still seeing those plane hit the towers about five-hundred times that afternoon. I, like many of you I'm sure, don't have to think too hard to remember those images.
I remember being angry, I remember being sad, I remember being frightened. It wasn't until I was a little older that I was truly able to grasp what happened that day.
But through all the horror and all the sadness , I remember being proud to be an American.
I swell with pride when the Madison Square Garden faithful give astoundingly-long standing ovations to police, armed service members and firefighters attending Rangers games. I get a lump in my throat and want to cry when I watch stories about people who lost loved ones in the attacks, about emergency responders who went into the flames to help bring people out. I take every opportunity I can to thank those that serve us.
I remember, I make sure I'll never forget.
So if you see a police officer, an armed service member or a firefighter give them a smile, shake their hand, thank them for what they're doing. Remember to kiss your loved ones today and every day, tell them you love them and cherish the time you spend with them. If 9/11 reminded us of anything, it was how short life can be, how much we take for granted, how precious time can be.
From all of us here at Blueshirt Banter we would like to thank all those currently serving this country and all those that have. We extend our prayers to all those affected by the attacks of September 11th, and we remember those we lost that day.
Thank you all for what you do for us every day.

I can't believe it's been 10 years...
As a 9 year old, I somehow remember almost everything about this day, just certain memories that have stuck to my mind and will be forever. I always get emotional about this day, but I never thought I would see the day of the 10th year, I can’t believe it. God Bless, everybody.
Proudly suffering as a Ranger fan.

Lest We Not Forget
My Beloved,
One of the Saddest Days in all of American History is now 10 years old. For me, as a Soldier, It still hits me in the gut like a sucker punch. As a Combat Infantry Staff Sergeant who served in Iraq in 2005, I am trained to fight in combat and nothing angers and hurts me more when an enemy attacks the innocent or the untrained rather than facing a true Warrior head on. These were mommies and daddies and sons and daughters, husbands and wives who were merely minding their own business trying to make a living and paying the bills. There was no need to attack the innocent. Its a Gutless Coward move that shall never be forgotten. Lest we never forget.
May we Pray for the Fallen, For the families and for the Loved Ones who have lost friends and families. May we have FAITH that GOD will be the true Healer.
Isaiah 53:4-6:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
I lost 6 friends in IRAQ that were very close to me. I can honestly tell you that all 6 of those people decided to join initially or to rejoin the military Because of 9/11 and how it affected their lives. They wanted to serve to preserve freedom.
Lets NEVER take freedom for granted.
Freedom is never free, Its paid for by the blood of the sacrifices of the Brave to preserve Freedom.
Pray to forgive those and pray to heal those who were struck by the tragedy of 9/11.

i interviewed at cantor fitzgerald in november 2000
the manager i was supposed to meet with went awol and kept me waiting in the lobby of one world trade for an hour; by the time he authorized me to come upstairs i was steaming and he blew it off as “one of those things that happens”, when they called me back for a second interview i told them to fuck off
keeping me waiting in the lobby prevented me from getting a job there and subsequently saved my life
i lucked out a second time when i was asked, on sept 10, to work in my company’s midtown office at rockefeller center instead of going to one broadway on the 11th, a dozen or so blocks from the towers
i still lost a lot of friends that day, the only reason i wasn’t among them was the quirk of fate of an asshole manager who paid the ultimate price ten years ago

Damn..
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
May we all take to this day with reflection...
and also, be mindful of our neighbors. Look upon them to know how we should take care of one another. Stop separating ourselves with walls; but, see each other with friendship.

Stayed up all night, watched some of Traverse game, then all of 9-11 all over again. (Went night fishing the night before, then my son stole the tv, and I could only put Traverse on for the score..lol) Most important thing to take away from it is that every day, every minute, every second can be your last. Don’t waste it. Make sure you show the people you love, that you love them. Keep your friendships strong. Don’t ever forget the sacrifices people make every day to keep us safe. Don’t ever forget 9-11.
PRUSTOSTERONE!!!
God Bless
The way we all behaved was a testament to the American Spirit. For all we are criticized for, and criticize ourselves for, nobody can take away that we are the most giving, caring, thoughtful people in the world. Whatever country I go to, you hear the same phrase “Americans care more about human life than anyone else”. Damn right. A sign of civilization it is. Wherever there’s a tragedy, whether it’s an earthquake or a tsunami, or genocide, Americans are always the first to be there. I’m proud of that. We may not be the best at a lot of things anymore, but nobody can claim to have more heart.
Here’s to the service men/women, firefighters and cops that make our lives less worrisome.
'Cause Brawndo's got electrolyes....
So you didn't see the amazing cup run then, Joe?
So do you even remember the 1994 cup? No idea you were that young.
What a shame, you were only 5, what an incredible year for the Rangers you missed. Watching the old videos of it doesn’t do justice to the amazing excitement and frenzy that went on that whole year. Hope we get to see that again…but nothing could match ’94.
