New York Rangers News: Winter Classic Official, Tonight's Game and Marc Staal Update
Today officially marks the day where we can "finally" say the Rangers will participate in 2012 Winter Classic. Although most of knew about these details for months on end. Ryan Callahan, Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik were in attendance along with Glen Sather and John Tortorella at the press conference. We found out the official first episode of HBO's 24/7 will debut on December 14th, at 10:00 PM.
It just wouldn't be a Winter Classic without an alumni game, which will take place on December 31st at 1:00 PM. Although the players weren't announced, it should be an interesting game to see amongst the legends. The official time for the Winter Classic will be at 1:00 PM, and can be viewed on NBC, CBC, and RDS networks.
Although there were no jerseys released at the press conference, as earlier released, the Rangers logo was on display. You can take a look at the Rangers Winter Classic logo here.
Follow after the jump for news for tonight's game and Marc Staal news.
Tonight the Rangers will face-off against the Flyers, and there was some updates news coming from the Rangers. Wojtek Wolski will be sitting out tonight's game, because of a sore groin. Carl Hagelin will be in place of Wolksi, and gives him another shot to shine. The line-up for tonight is as follows:
Goalies: Henrik Lundqvist, Martin Biron
Defense: Michael Del Zotto, Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh, Mike Sauer, Stu Bickel, Tim Erixon
Forwards: Sean Avery, Brandon Dubinsky, Brian Boyle, Dale Weise, Andre Deveaux, John Mitchell, Mats Zuccarello, Erik Christensen, Artem Anisimov, Andreas Thuresson, Ryan Bourque, Carl Hagelin.
Along with all that, Marc Staal's situation took a positive turn today as well. Glen Sather stated that Marc Staal may not have a concussion, but they are not ruling it out. Staal may also join the Rangers on their European swing this coming Thursday or Friday. There is no panic coming from Glen Sather regarding Staal, and he's "hopeful" for his return.
That's all we have for now. Join us tonight at 6:30 tonight as the Rangers take on the Philadelphia Flyers!

Good news all the way around. There are many other reasons (minor) why people get headaches.
PRUSTOSTERONE!!!
Hockey related.. I don’t usually watch this show, but did anyone see Bar Rescue last night? Lyndon Byers was on there. (If you are too young to know him, check Youtube) At some point the host of the show stated he could go toe to toe with any of them including LB. If I was drinking anything at the time, I would have spit it all over the place. I thought obviously he has never seen Byers fight. Boy, did he like to throw those uppercuts! Now I have some videos to watch….

Just a link to Andrew Gross’s Blog, but he goes into a bit more detail concerning Staal and the injury/problem.

hahaha nice
but I think he made his guarantee that we would sign a vet D, and we are still in talks with Paul Mara I think, so the jury isn’t out on this one yet.
Glad he was wrong with his negative outlook on staal’s health, though.

I hear your cries for salvation. Don’t believe the lies. Staal will miss extended time. Says so in the good book.

Can you accept the loss of Staal and move on…or will you hold onto the past.
