Practice News: Start Time Changed To 3:00; Ryan McDonagh Diagnosed With The Flu
The NHL announced during the New York Rangers practice that the game time for tomorrow's Winter Classic has been pushed back to 3:00 PM. It was said that moving it back will generate "optimal playing conditions" for the fans and the players. As we saw with the Alumni game yesterday, the sun glare would cause problems for both the players and ice, which is why both games were moved back to 3:00 PM.
Here is the revised timeline for those attending the game tomorrow courtesy of NHL.com
- Sports Complex Parking Lots will open at 9 a.m. ET
- Spectator Plaza will operate from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. ET.
- Gates to Citizens Bank Park will open at 1 p.m. ET
Also according to the New York Rangers, Ryan McDonagh left practice early, which was first noted as an equipment issue. However, after not returning for some time, the Rangers announced that McDonagh has been diagnosed with the flu. Marc Staal was wearing an "A" on his jersey today, and was paired with Dan Girardi after McDonagh left. Could we potentially see Staal skate tomorrow?

It's very much looking that way...
I tend to think this has been building. The more you see him skating, getting into shape, it looked more and more like he IS getting into the game tomorrow.

not that I don’t believe you but whats your source? I’m just a paranoid ranger fan.

@KatieStrangESPN #NYR No Staal for Rangers tmrw, per Torts. Same lineup as against FLA
I want him back when he is fully healthy and good to go but I wish that he was ready for tomorrow.

Yikes.. MSG’s “spot” on Time Warner has been filled by the NBA channel. Hope that’s just temporary filler…
I am not pleased
I am pissed off, no Rangers no Knicks
they better resolve this

I wouldn't be blaming MSG for this one
Usually with stuff like this, the carrier doesn’t want to pay an increased fee that everyone else pays.

MSG is totally to blame
Last year, Dish told MSG to F-off because they wanted a huge increase. They finally gave DirectTV MSG in HD. They weren’t giving them HD so that the Dolans could say that the only way to get MSG HD was with Cablevision.
It’s greed fueling this. Maybe other carriers (ahem DirectTV) paid there high fees but that’s a reason why Direct is the most expensive provider.
What’s up Rangers fans? Tomorrow’s the big day so I figured I’d post something up here.
Really hope to see Staal come back soon, and would be great to see him for tomorrow. Hopefully something changes.
And ever since I started watching the 24/7 special, I’ve really come to like HCJT. Used to hate the guy, but the show changed my mind very quickly.
Good luck tomorrow, go get em.
wow that took me like 15 minutes to figure out who HCJT was hahaha, i kept wondering who had a first name with H and last name with T. ugh, new years must be effecting me still hahah
seriously though, who’s HCJT? Sorry if this question is retarded but I’m completely stumped

who's #1
After the Staal injury many including myself were worried about the Ranger’s d. The team has showed their depth both on offense and more supprisingly on d. But we really have to tip our hats to Girardi. He’s been awesome, a real rock. He’s made a strong case tor being the Rangers top defenseman including Staal. It’s an injustice if Girardi doesn’t make the all star team. Staal is on the ballot and Girardi is not. It would be wrong if Staal made the all star team with the time he missed and Girardi doesn’t. I love Staal and can’t wait for his return but Girardi has been the real defensive star for the team.

Pre-concussion, Staal was still the #1. We’ll see what happens post-concussion.

Off Topic, but really important
Anyone know if NHL Center Ice gets their feed from Time Warner? It cost me $170.00 to get the Center Ice package to see the Ranger games. Will the games still be televised on Center Ice?
Already they have exceeded the total of games not televised last year and we’re only half way through the season. Lying bastards infer that they televise all the games, excepy blackout games. After you pay the money, you find out that they don’t televise whichever games they feel like. Worse than that it’s impossible to get the complete schedule. They only post their games month by month, so I can’t tell which games will be on TV in January untill the end of December. This makes it impossible to know how many games will not be televised before you pay up. Lying, sleazy outfit! Goes to show you what happens when a company has a monopoly on a product. The suits figure out any way they can cut costs and the customer gets screwed.

Hearing Ranger D-man Marc Staal is playing today in the Winter Classic..
Don’t wanna get hopes up til it is official but omfg if so. I do have to say, it worries me a bit to bring him back against one of the dirtiest hardest hitting teams but if he is ready he is ready!
Honestly, I’m more worried about him being in the lineup against a bloodthirsty Florida team

Given Philly’s concussion issues this year, I sincerely doubt they will headhunt Stall. If anything, I would expect he gets the kiddie gloves treatment. Hope he’s up for game action. Heading down in an hour. LGR!
