Was watching the early Aves-Stars game, and though this was interesting. We discussed early in the week whether or not B Rich was living up to expectations. Even though it did not look like a realistic option, last spring most of us were saying that we’d take BR but we’d rather have Stastny if we could land him via a trad. Stastny has 23 points in 42 games. Now, I know he is a lot younger and plays for a crappy team, but it leaves me with a few less “what ifs” that he isn’t on fire this season.

I like Hagelin back on the 2nd line, that worked well before. The other switcheroo is punishment for AA, I guess. I guess if you are gonna play Artie like that, Mitchell makes sense because he is good at possession and good on the boards like Ani is.
Yeah I don’t really like it but Mitchell can do some good with the possesion game and hopefully get the puck to Stepan and Gabby, but I don’t think Artie should be put in the doghouse for a couple bad games but so be it, he was there before he’ll work his way out of it again.

Part of that might also to get AA back at center and kickstart him. No one seems to mention that he has been playing out of position all season.
I remember a couple of times last games that AA and Step kept running into each other at center. I even think I saw Staph give him a look like ‘dood, this is my position, go back on wing’

I never said he doesn’t bench anyone, he just always rides AA pretty hard. BR has been a bench a few times as well, Gabby? Not this season. McD? Hardly. Maybe just to give him some rest after all the minutes he’s played.

You must have missed it. Gabby has seen the bench this year and McD did as well. Probably safe to say everyone is subject to the same consequences of poor play.
I think Torts has a pretty good handle on what players react to. AA seems to react well to that sort of challenge and not go hide in the corner like a scolded puppy. He know he has played poorly, said it himself. He also know there are consequences to that. Good lesson to teach a young player imho.

I’m just scared that if there were a player that the Rangers would give up on, it’s AA. Scares me because I think this kid is going to be a force in this league. 30+ goals point per game player eventually, and he’s already one of the better defensive forwards in the league.

I am a big AA supported as well.
I think it is also to get him back a center. He is playing with WW and Rupp so its not like a really shit line. If he plays well he will get ice time.
but as it was said multiple times last year, we do have too many centers. If we do land a LW or when Krieder comes up something will need to be done.

My four:
Phoenix- Hockey in the desert has been in a dire situation for quite some time now, I am not sure the experiment was ever going to be a successful one.
Columbus- As much as I love CBJ (they are in my top five teams) they have never been competitive and look absolutely god-awful this year when they were supposed to have improved the team significantly.
NY Islanders- Meh.
Florida Panthers- Need a team from the Southeast in my opinion, the Lightning have had more success, the Hurricanes have also won a cup, the Capitals aren’t going anywhere… I don’t know, doesn’t look good for them even with their success this year.
