Could The All-Star Break Help Or Hurt The Rangers?
Most of the New York Rangers started their All-Star break following last night's 3-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets. The Rangers will also go into the break atop of the Eastern Conference with 66 total points. Now, the real question is, will this break effect the Rangers in a negative way, or a positive way?
Some of the players like Brad Richards, Derek Stepan, and Artem Anisimov have been in mini slumps over the last handful of games. However, Richards finally broke his with a goal last night assisted by Ryan Callahan. I believe the break for these players will definitely help clear the air, and make for a fresh start in the final stretch.
On the other hand, players like Henrik Lundqvist and Ryan Callahan, play better game by game. While it make seem like they will be taken off their game, I don't believe it will effect them one bit either. The Rangers have a great, focused group of guys that are ready at any given moment. Not to mention, this break will also help guys like Brian Boyle, Brandon Prust, and Mike Rupp heal up before they get back to action.
Overall, I think this break will help the Rangers get their minds together and give them time to heal and rest up. The stretch of games following the All-Star break will be the games that count, and the Rangers cannot afford to be off their game. What do you guys think?

Definitely help
Watching Brian Boyle try and get off the ice the other night was painful. These guys need a week, and they’ve earned it.

The lengthy ASB will give players time to heal, and put the Rangers’ collective minds at ease for a while.
Now, the big question is whether this is the opportunity to go out and make a deal. Nonetheless, it is a great time for them to rest and recoil.

Prediction
Some players will play better than they were playing before the break.
Some players will play worse than they were playing before the break.

Ovechtrick= 9 goals, one game
not to be confused with the Ovechtrick 2.0 which is a natural hat trick in each period…….not to be confused with the Ovechtrick 3.0…….a natural Ovechtrick…….9 consecutive goals through the game.
Absolute Worst Ranger Fan!!!!!!....yet incredibly realistic and usually correct.

It will definitely help everyone on the team. Nobody except for Henrik, Mitchell, and Callahan are playing HOT right now. Henrik will stay mentally focused with the ASG, even though it is for fun. Cally should remain hot because he has been all season except for that slump he just worked out of. Mitchell, well who really cares, we should not need to rely on him having a hot streak to remain competitive. Hagelin will probably be juiced from participating in the All Star weekend.
Dubinsky just told Brooks how good this break will be to clear his head. Injured players and slumping players have nowhere to go but up – B Rich, AA, Boyle, Prust, Feds.
I think we are going to have a very strong February, playing a better and much more complete game than we have during any of our win streaks in the first half. And we are going to need to be on our game, with 14 games in 28 days that include New Jersey 3 times (always tight), a Boston rematch, the newly hot Pens and Caps, and Chicago.
One player I think the break would help the most
Is Brad Richards, get him away from the rink for a week have him relax and come back rested, refreshed and ready to kick ass in the second half. He looked a bit worn down to me these last few weeks and could do for a good recharge

this will give Richards time to romance olivia munn again and get some of that sweet lovin’ that clearly impacted his performance for the better earlier in the season.

of course it'll help
“momentum” is one of the worst cliches in sports, especially when thinking it exists from game to game.
They need time off the rest, that really is all.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
I’m sure Torts will properly motivate them after the break.

The only guys that have a lot of confidence are Cally, Mitchell, Hank, and maybe Gabby.
Hank won’t slow down, and neither will Gabby. Cally and Mitchell’s numbers might drop a bit but they’ll still play hard.
Now, Dubi, AA, BR, Feds, Boyle, etc. are all bound to start putting up more points.
I dont believe goal scoring will be a problem after the break.
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
man AA has looked like a wreck lately, what has happened with him. He can’t hold on to the puck, he can’t backcheck, he can’t put the puck on net (although he kinda always had trouble with this), and most of all he is not winning battles a long the boards.
Torts needs to try a new approach with him, because what he’s done so far clearly is not working.
