Recapping The 2012 NHL All-Star Game Fantasy Draft

Things started off tonight with the traditional puck toss, that ended up leaning in Zdeno Chara's favor. Daniel Alfredsson passed the choice over to Chara being the great host he is. There were definitely some surprising picks this year, including the first overall pick Pavel Datsyuk.
In case any of you haven't seen it, I will save the anticipation. Follow below the jump for the entire rosters for both Team Chara (Blue) and Team Alfredsson (Red).

both the Jets and Devils were originally represented but due to injuries and drop outs they ended up with no one….

definitely looks like the team i’d assemble, with the exception of no gaborik, obviously.
with that being said, i’d definitely like to see gabby get one by the king.

I don’t like the way Gaborik left Minnesota, but that will remain one of my top Wild moments as a fan. We sure miss his scoring touch.

I truly fell bad for you guys, I was a huge Gabby fan way before he came to NY, and I didn’t want him to leave the Wild unless he came here. But that aside Gaborik was one of the reason I like the Wild to this date, probably my favorite West team.

Saw Hartnell and Girardi having a few laughs on the cam they were showing. Probably were talking about the scrum that happened right when the Winter Classic ended.

Best moment of the fantasy draft?
Dan Girardi being picked, he kind of got a standing ovation from the Ottawa crowd when they mentioned how it was the 1st time he’s been drafted ever, the only all star player who went undrafted. Idk, I thought that was awesome and was glad to see him get noticed for that.

I like the Fantasy Draft format, but I think the last 3-5 picks should be a lottery. Too much emphasis is put on who is picked last. It’s awkward, and not in the spirit of the event IMO.

Fans in ott were really annoying and classless. We get u do like the leafs bit stfu, lupul was so pissed and I’m sure the nhl was too.

Red team takes the win, better of the here goalies(hank, quick and Elliot) and for offense stammer, grioux, letang and karlsson.. team will be flying.
