Wojtek Wolski And Jeff Woywitka Assigned To Connecticut On Condition Assignment

The New York Rangers announced that they have assigned forward, Wojtek Wolski, and defenseman, Jeff Woywitka to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League. Wolski has remained a healthy scratch since he played two games in the presence of Brandon Dubinsky. Woywitka has been sitting ever since the recent injury to Steve Eminger, and the recall of Stu Bickel.

Erik Christensen just recently finished his conditioning stint down in Connecticut, and still remains a healthy scratch after returning. This is obviously to get the two of them back in game shape, in the event of another injury, or someone else is a healthy scratch.

It has been rumored that either Wojtek Wolski and/or Erik Christensen would be available come the trade deadline, and this could stur the pot even more. We will continue to update everyone on the recent news, as we slowly approach the deadline. Speaking of trades, check out Kevin's article, which looks at some players the Rangers should look at, come the trade deadline.

Was just given a tip that the Rangers sending Wolski down is likely tied to something else. Confirmed with a second source.

@Eklund They are sending Wolski down because he keeps using up all the hot water in the MSG hot tubs.

I guess it’s tied to his conditioning stint huh?

Pretty obvious what the Rangers are doing here:

purging the roster of guy’s whose last names end in “W”

Ballsy move. The purge of the "Z"s already happened… poor Zuke.

Does this mean Hartford is retaliating by beginning to get rid of the players with “V”?

so that means we’re definitely not going to get Weber. f word.

Well hold on Marty, you’re not thinking fourth dimensionally. Perhaps the purge is just to clear “W Cap” room?

I didn’t realize they were that close…

Trade deadline...

Looks like it maybe for a few ranger players..One I would like to get rid of for ever is Christiansen..period,,conditioning or not.he is not a good player..and Rangers need one solid, young playmaker who could shoot well, and who would fit with the team, and of course be slowly developed…I read about Taylor Hall,..?..Oilers need some help in their defence…Go rangers!!!!.But the question remaims..who will be traded from ranger squad???

Meanwhile, the Whalers have dropped ELEVEN IN A ROW. Ouch. Might not be any playoffs for Kreider to go join…

This is silly.

Woywitka played well during his stint. And now, Bickel just plops at the end of the bench and doesn’t play passed the 2nd period. Why don’t they just let Bickel play in Hartford and have Woywitka on the bench since he’s clearly trusted with more minutes than big Stu?

Pierre McGuire needs to go away.

Eminger is really close to a return, so I suspect by the time Woywitka is back Bickel will be sent down and Eminger takes Bickels spot on the 3rd pairing… Honestly I thought DZ and Eminger played very well together… however the return of staal shakes things up a bit and there’s still no word on Sauer… I don’t know about everyone else but having Staal, Girardi, McDonagh, Sauer, MDZ, Stralman would be a nice way to head down the stretch into the playoffs…

Wow, what Eklund actually right about something???

He could’ve been right for the 1st time ever with Christensen. Too bad that the trade is….well, Christensen.
