NO TO NASH AND CARTER!!
This whole nash carter thing has reminded me of the old drury, redden, gomez, days.. We were getting better and felt if we had this and this we would be elite or better. I say no to giving up any of our young good d core now for an overrated big tree trunk that has a good shot. we are not looking for overpaid players anymore,or guys who dont fit our system of working hard, backchecking and skating everynight! I dont see that elite skill in rick nash from my point of view, i see nash as a slower and older looking, 35 years old Eric lindros, imo. We need a new and fresh eric lindros, like a malikn, skill and speed and powerforward. or even ovechkin when he was putting up 40 a year for 8 mil plus... I think a parise is a perfect fit for this club, not nash. Plain and simple, the two play diffent types of games. Nash waits for the puck and needs playmakers and others to make him better. Parise he skates, battles , passes and shoots all by himself. Hes, quiker and fits our system better than nash or carter by far! Parise backchecks and on the powerplay is effective around the night and in the corners, where nash and carter seemed to go there and preffered staying outside for that shotor deflection all night. last and most imprortant parise speed and forecheck leads to a player capable of changing the game at any time by even doing it himself if the team needs to win. i dont see nash skating around everyone and scoring nor carter! We dont need more gabroiks style of players, but more game changing powerforwards that are the complete package up front, like a malkin, crosby, parise, kovalchuk, ovechkin, stall, skinner, spezza, franzen, zetterberg, perry, towes, kane, etc.. we need that explosive power forward that can carry the game on his stick that can play center or wing with gabby or richards. Nash and carter dont fit our needs and wouldnt help our team in the long run. Stay Young keep kreider, sign free agents, like parise, and keep rebuilding and look for trades that improve both the cap as well as the chemistry on this club! I still beleive trading for a first round pick is better than nash or carter. lets get colubus first round pick rather then them getting ours is what we should focus on! The price is too high for trading, i say stay away! Lets go rangers! The media and the leaugue, aka campbell wants the rangers to make this trade, and i say no way. were better of 3 years from now without this trade, for this player, if it was malkin or toews i say yes or other players mentioned, but for nash and or carter hahahah what a joke, for both carter and nash and what colmbus is asking, I would still say no!

The league, AKA Campbell?? COLIN Campbell??
just a suggestion
I think you’d have a lot of the readers on this site on your side. However, I don’t know how many are going to open this post, see the wall of text, and read it all.
It’s a little intimidating and actually a little bit difficult to read and comprehend such a passage. If you break it apart into separate paragraphs, and separate thoughts, it’s a lot easier for people to digest and not lose their place and cause them to re-read parts.
First of all Stu..........
how about you show an inkling of legitimacy and base your opinion at least a little on factual information. Nash looks like a 35 yr old Lindros? Really? Nash is a very good player who has scored 30+ goals in almost every season he played on a team desolate of talent. You’ve got to be pretty good to put up almost 1PPG throughout your career. He had 17 goals as a rookie and 27 in 75 games in 2007. He has averaged over 30 goals each season of his career.
Call this what it really is…we don’t want that salary. I get it……..however if the Rangers were to acquire Nash you can count on him being a beast. BR to Nash all game long. At this point the Rangers can’t go into the playoffs as is and expect to win a series against Boston and ultimately Detroit. They need a scorer regardless of what the “don’t mess with the chemistry camp” believes. I am not for gutting the team to get Nash, but I also think if Sather makes a deal for him, we are not going to be angry at who goes. We know certain players are untouchable. I’m also sure his salary will be made irrelevent with the cap going the other way…….Dubi/Wolski= 8million. I honestly do not think we have any shot at getting Parise in the offseason. Of all the forwards you mention we need, none of them are available……so what do you do Stu?
Also, I’d take Carter in a heartbeat for what it will likely cost compared to Nash.
Absolute Worst Ranger Fan!!!!!!....yet incredibly realistic and usually correct.
This is my point also. Obviously Stu thinks we will be able to win repeat cups for eternity with our crop of prospects. At some point, a team uses its depth to strike at the cup. We have never had this much depth to play with. It is far better to invest some of that capital now while were a couple of chess moves away than save a hand few of our assets for a rainy day three years down the road. That’s like not wanting to put the King in check mate because you don’t want to lose a Bishop.
Nobody is in favor of gutting the system. I haven’t heard anyone argue for getting rid of Kreider no matter what Columbus asks for.
Also, Stu, as I’ve already said on here, I just think your assessment of Nash is wrong. He’s like a young per-concussion Lindros…
ok as long as we dont gut our players or future im with it..
but yes nash is big and can shoot.. score.. but does he have that all around game and blazing skill to go around and take it to the net and score everynight we need him to get a clutch goal at 8 mil a year. or are there other players outhere or soon availble to fill that void??
yes we need an elite player and scorer. will nash put up 80 to 100 points a year for the next few? if yes then hes worth dubi, wolski contract , pick and a prospect like erixon to go te other way. my propsal would be, dubi, wolski, erixon, valentenko and a first rounder for nash or thomas and bourque as well.

Those players aren’t available, that’s why he’s the hot topic. Trading for a first rounder is building for the future. That’s great if you are the Islanders or Maple Leafs or the Bluejackets…which is exactly what they are trying to get for Nash. Our future is here but we have serious weaknesses that are being masked by our strong regular season.
lindros was way better than him at his age anyway no comparision!

He instantly becomes a presence on the PP and in grinding Eastern Conference games.
……………………………………………………………………………But you said Nash looks like a 35yr old Lindros……not Lindros in his heyday which by the way he had two very strong cohorts in Renberg and Leclaire. The Legion of Doom line. Put Nash with BR and Callahan and he is going to be something we have not had on Broadway seemingly ever….a true bonafide power forward. I think it is very likely he becomes a 40 goals scorer with supporting cast……..you are comparing a guy like Lindros who always played with quality players to Nash who has played with himself for 8 season and still has very good numbers…….add support for him and watch him blossom into a monster…..imagine a 27yr old Iginla like player on our team…………if he comes here, it is going to happen……now, that said…….I personally think the contract and price is too high to really want him. I also don’t think we are getting Parise, Weber or Suter so if Glen pulls the trigger on this, as long as it doesn’t take all of AA/Dubi/MDZ……I think I could deal with it.
Stu, you flip flopped on your position, you can’t start a post shit talking about a guy and then come back with a trade proposal for said shit talked about guy.

I hate the Flyers
But damn I loved the Legion of doom! Possibly the best line in hockey from the last 2 decades.
smart
i could not agree any more…people here think because on video games, the more BIG NAME players u get the better ur team….keep playing ur games to the “lets be rid of core players” people. leave the real game to real fans.
Really?!?! So on top of you posting the likes of “NO WE DONT WANT OR NEED NASH ALL HE WANTS IS THE CASH!” in ever single thread we now get to have fanpost of incoherent gibberish?
Gee, thanks!

Someone needs to stop eating crow...
Because Mr. Stu is full of Kaw-kaw!
If you don’t want Nash for the cap hit, I can understand. But did this man say “he’s a 35 year-old Lindros”?
Someone needs some facts, and needs to stop listening to his buddy on the scarecrow…the crow.
Friend, I’ve got a dollar to help pay for your clue.

Actually,
I believe you were looking for “hahahaha.”

Actually, for a 5year old that is the equivalent of ‘hahaha’
