Ryan Callahan Day-To-Day With A Bruised Foot

The New York Rangers took to the ice today for practice after beating the New Jersey Devils 2-0 on Monday night. However, Ryan Callahan was not present at practice due to a bruised foot, and is listed as day-to-day according to the Rangers.

Ryan Callahan will still be making the trip for tomorrow's match-up against the Carolina Hurricanes, but his status is still up in the air. Even John Tortorella is unsure if Callahan will play tomorrow night, and it sounds as if he will be a game time decision for the game. Callahan also missed last night's casino night which means that the foot injury has been lingering since Monday's game.

John Scott skated with the Rangers for the first time since being acquired from the Blackhawks Monday afternoon. If Callahan sits tomorrow night, we could possibly see John Scott make his Rangers debut. Here is what Tortorella had to say on Scott following practice on Wednesday, "He's big...that's all I know...but I am not changing the lineup unless there is an injury...I like our lineup."

If he needs a few days off give it to him. Let him get back to 100%.

Cally will be fine, and won’t miss tomorrow vs. Carolina. I will say tomorrow holds a tough match-up, since the Hurricanes have been hot lately. Ward is back, and when he is on, he’s very tough. I believe Biron will start, but he’s gotta be really good.

good thing we got scott at the deadline. we can put him in for cally and not miss a beat. uhh yeah…. not miss a beat

The offense should be fine without him for a few games

although he shouldn’t miss a game, I wouldn’t think. Regardless, guys like Gabby and Richards can easily carry the load.

it would probably be easier to get the Jets..
a. it sounds better
b. there would be less outrage as opposed to NY "losing the Giants

plus they would have to change their helmets. who really wants to go through all that trouble?

errr

I guess that would put Dubi on the 2nd line. Meaning the 3rd and 4th lines would be nearly incapable of scoring. Why not call a forward up see what happens

by Stepan's Sister on Feb 29, 2012 3:45 PM EST reply actions

haha seriously

But like our bottom 6 all shuffle around and can play with each other, so chemistry doesn’t seem like an issue there. Instead of throwing the Bickels and Scotts of the world in while guys are out, why not try some riskier guys like an MZA in there. Its not like Bickel/Scott would score or even contribute offensively, and defensively, a Dubi-Boyle-MZA/whoever line is still solid as anything.

Well done! You know, right before Jersey Shore was a show I actually placed Top 10 Halloween Costumes on www.hotchickswithdouchebags.com with my Jersey Guido costume… spray tan and all. Good stuff.

I am always ahead of the curve like that. The year before I had an awesome Kim Jong Il Halloween costume, before he went totally batshit crazy and the common man knew who he was (but after Team America so I was getting like 5-10% recognition on Halloween night). Love Halloween. My other top costumes of years past include Michael Moore (truly scary) and a Rabbit vibrator (women love it!)

Take a seat Cally.

This was one of the reasons I was hoping for some bottom 6th depth so these guys can take a night off and save it for the playoffs. Dubi has his second chance and needs to step up.
